It was an interesting game on nice and cool Sunday afternoon. Credit goes to Stallionz FC who played a very good game, and I think deserve more than a 2nd place from bottom. Especially, the goalkeeper who made a fabulous save in the first half albeit not being noticed by th referee (goal kick given). Both USSR utd goals were deflections, not the easiest shots.

They game started with a tussle in the middle of the pitch with both teams failing to take control. One or two chances were created but not disturbing goalkeepers. In about 20 minutes first subs were made: Abi and Toby were introduced for USSR. At this point our team took possession and started to spread attacks from the wings, with both wingers and full-backs making devastating runs, with crosses coming into the opposition box and corners created. From these corners, Ali had twice the chance to score: first denied by the post and second by the goalkeeper. On the last minute of the first half, one of the attacks on the right side saw a low cross being collected by Ali and fired into goals; the stinging shot was deflected from back post to near post by the defender wrong footing Stallionz goalkeeper. 1-0

A myriad of changes was made during the break. Notably, the goal scorer Ali was replaced by Dima P. on the left side. The pressure on Stallionz have not stopped, once again the flanks were providing the intensity. Dima P was sending cross after cross from the left. One of them found Kosta as always lurking in the opposition box to tap a goal. Frankly speaking it was an awkward ball control, in fact, I was trying to settle the ball down with my knee in direction of goal. The touch was too heavy, and the ball has rolled into goals once again deceiving goalkeeper. 2-0

Another subbing rotation was done with 20 minutes to go to the final whistle. Finally Stallionz started to play better and control the game. Now USSR was on the back foot relying on counterattacks. One of the Stallionz right side attacks saw their winger to dribble clear past two USSR players and fire a low shot at the near post. Sergey - the goalkeeper was looking into the cross and failed to cover the near post. 2-1

After some desperate defending towards the end, USSR Utd are very happy to take all 3 points.
