Team Report

Lionheart started off nervously in the first half as they met the last of the inaugural Division 4 team that has improved tremendously this season. Our defence had a few nervy moments but we managed to hold Ike Ike 0-0 in the first half, more to do with the opponents inability to breech the defence rather than us playing well.

However, we had to take out many of our players due to dehydration, match fitness clearly an issue as the unforgiving sun had the players scrambling for water any moment they could get.

Hafiz Roslan could not finish the match as he went to one side and vomitted prompting the management to get the 4th choice keeper, Noor Hafiz, to warm up and make his debut this season, his 2nd cap so far for the first team, as Haikal Mustafa was called up on overseas NS duties in Brunei, meaning he would not be able to finish the season with us, whilst Sharikin "Mignolet" Ismail, our 3rd choice keeper, saw his amateur goalkeeping career come to an end as he fractured his shoulder blade whilst playing for Lionheart FC Braves in the SAFRA 7s. A tummy-churning breakfast might have cost us as the substitute keeper made 3 errors resulting in soft goals.

The team could not improve their 2nd half with Captain Omar putting Ike Ike into the lead with a lobbed own goal that opened the floodgates. It was a disappointing lost. But hopefully the next few games will see Lionhearts back to winning ways.
