Start off with Ayie new face in goal sitting in for Haikal V down with fever at the last minute of his updates in the chat group last night. First time playing against CCS FC, an interesting name for the family orientated team stands for ‘Chucu Chicit Syed FC’ as relayed to me over friendly conversation with Mr. Arifin’s after the match.

With Harith and Kumar in the centre back Newton should be fairly strong supported by Amirul right and Al-Hafiz left. Midfield stoppers just in front of the centre back- Arian and Sharil should be able to push up and defending stopping all balls from coming through the half line as well as play making distributions. Bo in the attacking midfield has the assist from two fast wingers Hykal J right and Hazrulnizam left. The support and push from this setting should enable the outright striker Idzhar to manipulate his position for goals.

On the next meet, I have an eye for Shahrulnizam on the right wings and Azrin for the striker along with Hazrulnizam on the left wings. This arrangement must be carefully arranged to pry out the three youngster’s talent. The ability they possess is unique overwhelmingly out shines the youth’s group. Over time blending these youths into the seniors team has been promising development, they progresses well.

Newtons was good only just having been absence from the tournament for couple of years. Rusty it seem yet the 14-year old Hazrulnizam just blends in sweetly into the squad performing sizing-up his talent with the seniors. Eight minutes in the game Hazrul regain ball possession from within the half line pick up his runs on the left wings get himself one on one with the keeper and slot in low ball for the first goal, Hazrul 8’, 1-0. Newton demonstrate ball control simple passes from Al-Hafiz to Sharil, ‘sensing Hazrul is making his run on the left wings’ simple one touch control of the ball for him to distribute a long low pass to Hazrul whom is running his talent out dodge one defender cut into the box in his awareness square the ball for Bo to finish the second goal in the sixteenth minutes, Bo16’, 2-0. A foul on Sharil in the centre of the fields, Sharil took the free kick quickly fast pass to Hazrul whom making his run from the left wings dashes his ball control took the shot deflected on the defender for the third goal, Hazrul 22’, 3-0. Bo picks up the ball in the centre field regain advantage in command of ball possession, slot in a through ball for Hykal J- as usual on his top speed running in from the right wings races straight to the keeper's goal mouth and scored the fourth goal, Hykal J 25’, 4-0.

In the 25th minutes, Syahdirwan for Hazrul coach Ace experimenting Syahdirwan and has plans for Hazrul in the second half. Sensing Al-Hafiz in the 27th minutes signs of fatigue, Alfian for Al-Hafiz to partner Syahdirwan. Things did not materialize Syahdirwan did not start off well he did mentioned of injury.

Newton’s play ball well good short passes maneuvering the entire fields dodging defenders pressuring the goal mouth. Contentment defuses the momentum of the game- four goals in 25-minutes of play when at ease draws in turn into complacency.

2nd half Score: 4 - 0
Goal: no goals in this half
Reserves: Ruzaini, Hazrul, Al-Hafiz
Substitute: Hazrul/Arian 25min, Al-Hafiz/Amirul 27min, Ruzaini/Bo 30min

Good briefing at the break pointing what is and what not and what have you. Basically we are aware of the opponent's’ strength and technically Newton's must raise their game respectively.

We start off pretty well but the punch wasn’t there, few attempts at goal just brushes over the bar. Hykal J strayed into the midfields area Alfian kept trying to get a goal for himself didn’t happen. Syahdirwan on and off with his missed Q’d and his passes came short or over done. Sharil and Bo looking weary as the game started to deteriorates. Kumar on the other hand was not like he was 2-years ago focus and alert relentlessly aggressive always first to the ball, I suppose as you age- you mellow. Or perhaps, it has been a while since Kumar played with us. Given time he will pick out where he’d left off, no doubt about it. He displayed comfortable partnering with Harith and the rest of the squad. Amirul did pretty well still young to this game. With careful guidance he will on his toes running in no time, just need to compose well and control his playing ego. Tend to forget coaches advice to make eye contact with teammates before making decisions. Slow at his judgments in communication to reacts.

Idzhar still new to the squad maybe not familiar with the tempo and speed of the team, he made himself available taking corner kicks and free kick which was a good example to getting involved. On the bright side, Newton's kept clean sheets in their opening game.
