Team Report
This was a much anticipated game for Kamikaze MMXV as they knew that a win would take them top of the table. However, it was not the most ideal of preparations as a number of injuries and absentees left them with a paper-thin squad.
Despite starting brightly with a well-taken corner goal through Taufiq, and yet another fine strike from Harvin, the team felt the pressures of the physically stronger German All Stars team ending the first half with only a slender lead of 2-1
The second half saw MMXV quickly pegged back and German All Stars equalising. Thereafter though, MMXV stamped their authority on the game and dictated the pace of the game with their famed silky passing moves. Kavi scored soon, yet once again the Germans equalised through a defensive slip up. But it was just a matter of time. Jeeva’s assist for Irshad and Taufiq’s goal from an assist via Murali’s goal kick ensured that the Young Samurais went back with all 3 points.
The hard work over the past 4 months of improving on all fronts has paid dividends as MMXV have finally found themselves at the top of the table. They know it’s a long season to go and faced with several top teams, Kamikaze will remain humble and committed to the hard work that is needed!
