A great start to the season for City. Kudos to Lionheart FC who pushes us to the final minute. Missing a few key players and playing the whole match with 11 men under the blistering 1pm hot sun could not deter our enthusiasm. Indra Shaiful was excellent at the back covering for most missing centre backs while Sean And put in one hell of performance in his debut with City. Created a few chances but could not capitalized on the finishing. Ahmad Khan named captain of the Match due to the 3 leaders out opened his account for City after a great telling pass from playmaker Erfan while the match was done before halftime after Hakim layoff for Erfan's inside the box finish. Throughout the match City won the battle in aerial duel with 7 headers won by their striker Ridwan Salim. Good match. Great quality. Thank you Lionheart for the sportsmanship.
Team Report
The Lions deployed 4-3-3 again against a tough opponent. With no stable keeper, we went down 2-0 at half time. Although the boys did well to keep the counter pressure and tried to play Gegenpressing throughout the 40 minutes.
Evidently, to play this kind of football requires the team to be better physically prepared. Thus a change in formation to 3-5-2 saw the Lions take the initiative to City and we controlled the game ever since. Close shaves on the attack as Azizi and Kecik nearly drew level for us. But the plus point of the day is that we discovered our comfort zone formation.
