Team Report
1st half: After the first two matches they lost Newtons got to re-bounce from the defeat and start their winning form and today would be the day if they had the talent to have it all. With this strange line-up, I urge the boys to enjoy their game and just don’t worry about losing or winning. With the two results from the IWL surprise lost with shortage of players from NSF, I wish to regain the boys confident not to pressure them anymore. Surely they are enjoying the moment even though trailing at the beginning of the half 0-2 and by the half time managed to pick up goals from Hykal J and Nashrin at 2-3 on the half time break. New boys Ridzuwan and Aliff blend into the team well for the first time playing together Kelvin on the other hand just fit in naturally taking the advantage of his diligent moves and winning the ball quick. Newton got their goal through Hykal J with good movement from Alfian and Adi, Nashrin caused confusion on his run for Hykal J to take the advantage to score Newton’s first goal 1-2, Hykal J. Kallang Roar managed to increase their goal 1-3 and instantly Newton reply with a good break from Adi clever through ball on Hykal J run expose Kallang Roar defense square to Nashrin run to go along side the keeper and score 2-3, Nashrin. The last time these two met they drew 1-1 in last season X-league but then Kallang Roar was different young energetic talented squad. Newtons managed to get two goals back at the break 2-3.
2nd half: A the first half Hariz was quite nervous in goal but calmed down after a while. In this half the boys are enjoying themselves and not worrying about the score line they began to play well and distribute better chances especially from Ayul the play maker. From his simple touches Newton manage to disperse attack and chances of goal scoring opportunity. A long kick from keeper Hariz to Wayne our youngest player U17s control the ball to pass a through lob for Nashrin whom break through the defense and square for Hykal J at a better position and level the score 3-3, Hykal J. More pressure pounding Kallang Roar’s goal when Kelvin found himself break loose for a goal scoring chances maintain his composure balance his awkward standing and flick the ball into goal but just hit the goal post and bounce back out, unlucky Kelvin. At the strange moment while everyone was like dazing, Adi dribble the ball from within Newton’s half even Newton’s were at the dazing stale found himself one on one with the keeper and put Newtons 4-3 up, Adi. This was a good run for Newtons when at the beginning trailing 0-2 managed to catch-up to put 5-3 from a creative move in the midfield when Viysh pick-up the ball from the right wings pump in the clear ball for Ayul clear one on one with the keeper and scored Newton’s 5th goal to put Newton 5-3, Ayul (28). At the lead of 5-3, Newton’s defender went to sleep and Kallang Roar scored their 4th goal to end the match 5-4 to Newtons.
An interesting day to win today match against Kallang Roar and good result for the team having poorly perform on their two matches this is a good game. There is no more mistake if Newtons to retain their championship for the third time.
