Team Report

Lionheart opened the 2015 season with a lost, but not all was disappointing. It was an end-to-end affair as both teams applied the pressure but it was Team Awesome who drew first blood in the first minute.

Failure by the Lionheart defence to handle a corner resulted in an easy goal for Team Awesome.

Minutes later, Lionheart scored an equaliser through Mirun who came off the defence to support the attack with a class volley.

At the 10th minute, trialist, Shafiq, broke pass the Team Awesome defence to give Lions the lead.

However defensive errors led to Team Awesome coming back to lead 2-3 at half time.

The Lions came back roaring in the 2nd half, equalising at the 50th minute through striker, Irfan. We tried to push for the win when one of our players was deemed to have been fouled outside the box. But Adam's ensuing free kick hit the post and out.

With 5 minutes to spare, 2 goals by Team Awesome was enough for the opponent as the defence could not hold off their main striker.

A lot of lessons in this game, but the "no surrender" attitude was evident in our play.
