Week 5: Big wins for East Celtic & Team Awesome!
East Celtic FC scored their highest win to date beating an in-form D’Angelos side 8-1 at Mayflower Secondary thanks to a hat-trick by Muhammad Faiz aka Lan. Hamren Hamid, Team Manager for D’Angelos Sains had this to say after the game, “Firstly, well done to the opposition for putting on a tough game. They were organized and came to the game well prepared. It was a disappointing day for the Saints. We had learnt a very important lesson that is to never be complacent in football. With the range of quality this league has, it will teach you a thing or two you never knew about 11-a-side footy. Despite our exhilarating outcome in Game Week 4, this week has taken all of us by shock. Nevertheless, we have moved on and will see us back gunning for success. Well done to the fellas who played, everyone”.
A hat-trick by Man of the Match, Muhammad Nordin saw Team Awesome finally get back to winning ways this week beating Centurion Rovers 5-1 at Coral Secondary. The home side has this to say after the final whistle, “Team Awesome put up a 5 star performance with 5 goals to show for it. Hat-trick hero Nordin, with his new pair of white boots, put in a man of the match performance and even provided an assist for the 5th goal for returning player Ejal to slot the ball home from close range. Overall it was a good game played with the right spirit of intensity and commitment. We would like to kick on from here and get more positive results”.
Atlas FC was awarded a 3-0 walkover win over Gombak Guerreiro FC this week due to a “No Show”.

Week 4: Nagaraj “KUN” Seh leads LKY tribute with special Hat-trick!
All X-League teams paid respects this week to the late Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first Prime Minister, by holding a minute’s silence before the start of each game. Man of the Match, Nagaraj “KUN” Seh made his own special tribute by scoring a hat-trick as D’Angelos Saints secured back to back wins beating Atlas FC 5-1 at Woodlands Secondary.
Over at Anderson Secondary, East Celtic FC further extended their lead at the top of the table beating Centurion Rovers 5-2 in a tale of two halves, Despite finding the back of the net through Man of the Match Izhar Izman and Rudy Khairudin, Celtics proved too strong for the home side, especially in the second half. The away side had this to say after the game, “Our opponents scored first in this tie through some fine counter attacking play. However, we had more possession of the ball and slowly the pressure paid off. We managed to score two in the first half and added another three in the second. Kudos to Centurion Rovers for their fighting spirit and sportsmanship.”

Week 3: D’Angelos secure first win as Gombak Guerreiro hit five past Rovers!
D’Angelos Saints FC secured their first win this week when they beat Lion Heart FC 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at Woodlands Secondary. Goals from Nagaraj "KUN" Seh (2), Khyrul "Shortfak" Anwar and Moolah Lea ensured that the Saints maintained 5th spot in the league standings. East Celtic FC moved to the top of the league standings this week thanks to back to back wins over Centurion Rovers and Team Awesome. “Our opponents this week are an experienced side and we felt that both teams were evenly matches. We scored first in the 27th min through Luqman and Fauzi added a second in the 70st min. Despite the score-line, Team Awesome pushed forward and showcased tremendous fighting spirit. Kudos to both teams for a great game.”
Over at Bedok View Secondary, Gombak Guerreiro thumped five goals past Centurion Rovers thanks to fine efforts by Marzuq Husiany, Jeremy Wong, Hairi Rasid, Muhammad Qadari and Man of the Match, Rozaidi Hamedi. The win sees them climb to second spot in the league standings.

Week 2: Gombak Guerreiro edge 7 goal thriller!
Goals from Muhammad Qadari, Hairi Rasid, Hilman Ja'afar and Shafiq Shariff saw Gombak Guerreiro FC kick-off their season in dramatic fashion as the away side narrowly beat Team Awesome 4-3 at Anderson Secondary. Gombak Guerreiro had this to say after the game, “This was our first win in the X-League. We hope to maintain our form and level of performance moving forward. Hopefully we can lift the title at the end of the season. Kudos to team Awesome who pushed us all the way.”
Atlas FC garnered their first win of the season beating D’Angelos Saints FC 3-2 in an evenly contested tie thanks to goals from Nizam Hamza, Rausyan Yazid and Man of the Match, Azlan 'Yayan' Yazid. Yayan had this to say at the end of the final whistle, “Atlas approached the game differently from last week. We attacked straight from kick-off and were rewarded with a goal as early as the 15th min. We’d like to congratulate the opposing goalkeeper who had an outstanding match.”
Over at Bedok View Secondary, East Celtic FC continued their fine form beating Centurion Rovers 1-0 with a last min winner courtesy of Mohammad Fauzi.

Week 1: Goals Galore as Season Kick’s Off!
Team Awesome got their season under-way this week with a hard-fought 5-3 win over Lion Heart FC thanks to five goal hero and Man of the Match Razmy Aziz at Kent Ridge Secondary. The away side took the lead as early as the first minute before Lion Heart equalized through Mirun Saniri just four mins later. Shafiq Johari then gave Lionheart the lead before Razmy Aziz added two of his own to give Teams Awesome a 3-2 lead going into the break. The Lions then equalized 10mins into the second half before the Razmy Aziz sealed the game for his side.
Over at Bedok South Secondary, X-League veterans Atlas FC and newcomers, East Celtics FC played to a pulsating 3-3 draw. East Celtics had this to say after the game, “The game with Atlas FC was challenging as we led twice in the game and on both occasions they came back to equalize. Although during the mid-way point of the match there were some rough tackles, overall both teams were very sporting and the referee maintained a good grip on the game”.
The X-League would like to Congratulate Atlas Team Manager, Azlan “Yayan” Yazid on his recent marriage and for scoring a special goal with his newly customized pair of boots from his wife.
