We started out as a church team way back in 2008 without having a team name till last September. Back in 2008, the core members were only about 17/18 year olds. The rest of the players were 15/16/17 year olds and so we stuck together for the past 5 years. Even though our current team has a mixture of religions, we have decided not to change the team name owing to the fact that we started out as a church team and we reached out to different age groups and different denominations not just to play soccer but to spread the word of God and help certain people find their belonging. And also because most of our players are church goers. Most of us used to be from the same secondary school. The name Acolytes is in relation with the church. Our nickname is 'The Lights'. Our team's motto is 'Jogar Para Excitar'. Which means 'play to excite' in Portuguese.
Our sole achievement is coming in runners up in the Farrer Park Premier League that ended in April 2012.
