Sunday Premier League Season 15 Division 2

  • Week 30: Exciting Conclusion to the Season

As the curtain fell on Season 15 of the Sunday Premier League’s Division 2, the final week brought with it a thrilling array of matchups that decided the fate of several teams. With FC Henosis facing off against Sparta Cowboys for a potential third-place finish and FC Vastatores battling Maoists FC in a relegation showdown, the stakes couldn't have been higher.

In the first match of the week, Maoists FC capped off their campaign with a dominant 5-2 victory over FC Vastatores at Clementi Town Secondary. The game started with Maoists FC establishing an early 2-0 lead, but Vastatores fought back valiantly. Effendi Elias and Luqmannulhakim Aziz pulled them level at 2-2, showcasing their resilience. However, tragedy struck for Vastatores when Louis Loo regained the lead for Maoists in the 48th minute, which opened the floodgates for additional goals from Leroy Liu and Johnson Toh. The final whistle confirmed a comprehensive win for Maoists FC, despite the initial back-and-forth.

In the day's standout fixture, Sparta Cowboys secured an emphatic 3-0 victory over FC Henosis, thanks in large part to a stellar performance from Man of the Match Eszuan Mahadi. The Cowboys needed a big win to bolster their end-of-season standing, and they delivered. Goals from Muhammad Hilmi, Norahman Abu Bakar, and Afiqul Zulhilmi sealed a commanding victory that ensured Sparta finished the season on a high note.

As the season concluded, Kamikaze MMXV were crowned champions, having clinched 11 wins from 16 matches. Bukit Timah CSN finished second, while That Team rounded out the top three, all earning promotion to Division 1 next season. Meanwhile, Class FC, Maoists FC, and FC Vastatores will drop down to Division 3.

Individually, Kaung Khant Minn of Class FC took home the Top Scorer Award with 19 goals, while Eszuan Mahadi was named the league MVP with 42 points. Both Bukit Timah CSN and Class FC also shared the Team Fair Play Award, having accumulated only 8 disciplinary points throughout the season.

  • Week 29: Henosis Keep Medal Hopes Alive, Maoists Relegated After Stalemate

Week 29 of the X-League’s Division 2 saw four teams battle it out as the season inches closer to a dramatic conclusion. Bukit Timah CSN faced off against FC Henosis, while Maoists FC clashed with Sparta Cowboys, with crucial points on the line for all involved.

The spotlight match of the week featured Bukit Timah CSN, currently in second place, taking on an FC Henosis side desperate for a win to keep their medal hopes alive. Bukit Timah needed the victory to push within two points of the league champions, Kamikaze MMXV, but Daniel Tan’s decisive strike in the 60th minute secured all three points for FC Henosis. The visitors' defense held firm, frustrating Bukit Timah’s attempts at an equalizer. This crucial victory sees FC Henosis close the gap on That Team to just three points. However, they will need a resounding win in their final game against Sparta Cowboys next week if they are to leapfrog into third place and secure a spot on the podium.

In the second fixture, Maoists FC and Sparta Cowboys played out a 0-0 stalemate. Despite their best efforts, both sides were unable to break the deadlock. The draw, however, guarantees Sparta Cowboys' survival in Division 2 next season, as they now move up to 20 points. Maoists FC, on the other hand, face the disappointment of relegation, joining Class FC and FC Vastatores in Division 3 next season after a tough campaign.

As the season nears its end, all eyes will be on the final week to see how the medal race plays out in Division 2.

  • Week 28: Kamikaze MMXV end the season as Division 2 Champions!

As the curtain begins to fall on Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League, Week 28 saw three thrilling matches that kept fans on the edge of their seats. With six of the nine teams in action, the race for a top-three finish remains intense, and while Kamikaze MMXV have already secured the title, their campaign ended with a rare slip.

In the standout fixture of the week, That Team secured a narrow 2-1 victory over the champions, Kamikaze MMXV. After a goalless first half, Palanivelu Madhiventhan opened the scoring for That Team in the 53rd minute. However, Kamikaze’s top scorer, Mohan Raj, responded just seven minutes later with a stunning volley that thundered into the back of the net. The game looked destined for a draw until Sasthitharan G. netted the winner in the 65th minute, securing three vital points for That Team, who now find themselves in contention for a medal position, finishing on 28 points.

Despite the defeat, Kamikaze MMXV still finish the season as Division 2 champions, capping off a remarkable campaign. Mohan Raj ends the season as their leading goal scorer with 10 goals, while B. Kaviraj finishes joint third in the league's MVP standings.

In the second match, FC Henosis bounced back from their recent 3-1 defeat with an emphatic 4-1 win over Maoists FC. Wei Song, Kaizer Karthikesan, Parvin Manoharan, and Don Ranil were all on target as Henosis moved up to 4th in the standings. With two games in hand, Henosis still have a mathematical shot at a top-three finish if they can secure convincing wins in their final two outings.

The final clash of the week saw Druzhba FC held to a 2-2 draw by FC Vastatores. Druzhba took an early lead through Nilo Mata Cervera in the 7th minute, only for Khairul Rahmat to level things for Vastatores just three minutes later. Frank Meyer restored Druzhba’s lead, but a fine effort from Tahqeem Aziz in the 65th minute ensured the spoils were shared. Druzhba FC end their campaign with 22 points.

  • Week 27: That Team Dominate Druzhba FC to Tighten Grip on Third Place

Week 27 of the X-League’s Division 2 Sunday Premier League saw just one fixture, but it was a crucial one as That Team took on Druzhba FC. With only two points separating the sides, third place was on the line. Druzhba needed a win to leapfrog their rivals, while That Team knew that avoiding defeat would keep them in the driver’s seat.

The match kicked off with both teams eager to seize control. Druzhba came agonizingly close to taking the lead early on, with a stunning long-range effort that cannoned off the bar, followed by a quick rebound that struck the post—all within a heart-stopping 10 seconds. Despite Druzhba’s relentless pressure, it was That Team who broke the deadlock, somewhat against the run of play. R. Sharvin capitalized on a rare opportunity, slotting home in the 30th minute to give his side a 1-0 lead at halftime. A draw might have been a fairer reflection of the first half, but That Team’s clinical finishing made the difference.

The second half saw That Team shift into a higher gear, leaving Druzhba trailing in their wake. Sean Ng doubled the lead just three minutes after the restart, and from there, the floodgates opened. Sasthitharan G. made it 3-0 in the 70th minute, and Palanivelu Madhiventhan added a fourth just three minutes later to seal a comprehensive 4-0 victory.

This crucial win all but secures That Team's third-place finish in the league standings, with a positive goal difference of 10. Although Sparta Cowboys and FC Henosis can still mathematically catch them, That Team holds the advantage with just one game remaining. A tantalizing clash against league leaders Kamikaze MMXV awaits, offering a chance for That Team to cap their season with honors after finishing sixth in Division 2 last season. Meanwhile, Druzhba FC remains in fourth place, left to ponder what might have been.

  • Week 26: Class FC Crush Vastatores

Week 26 of the X-League's Division 2 Sunday Premier League saw a determined That Team take on Maoists FC, with a third-place podium finish in their sights. The game promised drama, as Maoists FC, fresh off a victory the previous week, looked poised to upset the odds. However, the match quickly turned in favor of That Team, who dominated the early proceedings. Goals from R. Sharvin and Sasthitharan G. gave them a 2-0 lead by the 16th minute. Maoists FC responded swiftly, with Izzuan Jamal pulling one back just three minutes later. Despite their best efforts, the score remained 2-1 heading into the break.

The second half was a different story, as That Team shifted gears and capitalized on Maoists’ fatigue. The match was effectively decided in the final minutes, with Sean Ng and Ramesh Jeiri finding the net to seal a comprehensive 5-1 victory. The win keeps That Team firmly in contention for a third-place finish, as they continue their march up the league standings.

In another clash, Class FC faced off against FC Vastatores, desperate for a win to close the four-point gap between them and the teams above. Led by their talismanic top scorer Kaung Khant Minn, Class FC delivered an emphatic 4-1 victory. Wee Jian Yi and Musafar Ali also chipped in with fine goals, ensuring a dominant performance. • Week 25: Kamikaze Hold Off Sparta Comeback as Maoists Rally to Victory

Week 25 of the X-League’s Division 2 Sunday Premier League saw Kamikaze MMXV tighten their grip on the league title with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Sparta Cowboys FC. With Bukit Timah CSN faltering in their last two matches, the door was wide open for Kamikaze to extend their lead at the top of the standings, and they did just that in a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Kamikaze MMXV started strong, quickly taking a 2-0 lead by the 24th minute with goals from Harvin Raj and B. Kaviraj. It looked like smooth sailing for the league leaders, but Sparta Cowboys had other plans. Despite their recent dip in form, the Cowboys showed resilience, battling back to level the score at 3-3 by the 58th minute. The match seemed destined for a draw until Raja Rishan stepped up, netting the decisive goal to secure a hard-fought 4-3 win for Kamikaze MMXV. This victory puts Kamikaze one step closer to clinching the Division 2 title.

In the second game of the week, Maoists FC finally got back to winning ways with a 2-1 triumph over FC Henosis. After Henosis took the lead through How Ren in the 30th minute, Maoists FC responded with goals from Leroy Liu and Muhammad Rafiq to turn the tide in their favor. The win lifts Maoists FC to 12 points in the league standings, just two points shy of overtaking 7th-placed Class FC.

As the season draws closer to its conclusion, the race for the title and the battle to avoid relegation are heating up, promising more drama in the coming weeks.

  • Week 24: Bukit Timah Stumbles, Class Upsets & Henosis return with a bang!

Week 24 of the X-League's Division 2 Sunday Premier League was nothing short of dramatic, with surprising results shaking up the standings and adding intrigue to the title race.

Bukit Timah CSN, who have been a formidable force this season, once again failed to capitalize on their strong form. After a surprising 1-1 draw against Class FC last week, expectations were high for Bukit Timah to bounce back. However, they were held to another draw, this time 1-1 against Druzhba FC. Stas Mikhaylov put Druzhba ahead in the 23rd minute, and it seemed like Bukit Timah’s hopes for a win were fading. Yet, a dramatic last-minute goal from Addy Zacqary salvaged a point for Bukit Timah. The draw sees Druzhba rise to 4th place in the standings, while Bukit Timah faces a challenging uphill battle in their quest for the title. Their upcoming clash against league leaders Kamikaze promises to be a thrilling encounter.

In a surprising turn of events, Class FC managed to secure a crucial 2-1 victory over Sparta Cowboys. Despite Sparta taking the lead in the 45th minute, Class FC fought back with determination. Wee Jian Yi leveled the score in the 55th minute, and Kaung Khant Minn clinched the winner 10 minutes later. This win lifts Class FC to 15 points and provides a glimmer of hope for the remainder of the season, while Sparta’s dip in form may have dented their chances of finishing with honors.

In our final fixture of the week, FC Henosis made a strong return after their previous walkover. A first-half strike from Parvin Manoharan, followed by a dramatic last-minute winner from Wei Song, secured a 2-1 victory over FC Vastatores. This win is a significant boost for FC Henosis as they aim to make a strong finish to the season.

  • Week 23: Class FC Stuns Bukit Timah CSN as Kamikaze Extend Lead!

Week 23 of Season 15 in the X-League's Division 2 Sunday Premier League served up another round of exhilarating football. With six teams in action, the results have reshaped the league landscape and provided plenty of drama.

In a surprising twist, Bukit Timah CSN faced Class FC for the second time in a week, following their 5-1 drubbing of Class FC in the previous fixture. Expectations were set high for Bukit Timah, but football’s unpredictable nature took center stage. Despite a dominant display last week, Bukit Timah was held to a tense 2-2 draw this time around. Class FC's Kaung Khant Minn stole the spotlight with a brilliant double, putting the away side ahead 2-1 until the 75th minute. A last-minute equalizer from Bukit Timah salvaged a point, but it was a frustrating result for the high-flying side.

The slip-up by Bukit Timah CSN was a golden opportunity for league leaders Kamikaze MMXV, who capitalized with a resounding 6-2 victory over FC Vastatores. Harvin Raj was the star of the show, netting a hat-trick, while Mohamed Taufiq added two more and Mohan Raj chipped in with a goal. Kamikaze’s emphatic win extends their lead at the top of the table to three points, putting them in a strong position as the season progresses.

In another high-scoring affair, Druzhba FC stunned Spartya Cowboys FC with a convincing 5-1 triumph at Fuhua Secondary. Following the Cowboys' previous week’s 7-3 win, Druzhba delivered a shock result. Nilo Mata Cervera scored twice, and Stas Mikhaylov along with Man of the Match Pavel Volkov rounded off the scoring. This impressive performance sees Druzhba rise to 5th place, fueling their hopes for a strong finish to the season.

  • Week 1: Kamikaze's Harvin Raj Rescues Dramatic Draw Against Druzhba FC!

The inaugural weekend of Season 15 in the X-League Sunday Premier League Division 2 witnessed six out of the nine teams kick-starting their campaigns, setting the stage for an exhilarating season ahead. Notably, this season welcomes two new contenders, Class FC and Bukit Timah CSN, adding fresh energy and enthusiasm to Division 2.

Class FC, born out of a circle of friends with a shared passion for football, transitioned from casual games in Bukit Panjang to establish a competitive 11-a-side team. Meanwhile, Bukit Timah CSN, with roots dating back to 2014 as a weekly football interest group, has evolved into a formidable force over the past decade, thanks to the dedication of its passionate members.

In the first match of the week, Druzhba FC faced former Division 1 Champions Kamikaze MMXV, resulting in a thrilling 3-3 draw. Druzhba took a 3-1 lead with goals from Tin Vlasic, Ramon Dominguez, and Nilo Mata Cervera, but Kamikaze's Harvin Raj, last season’s Division 1 MVP, displayed his prowess by scoring two quick goals in the dying minutes to salvage a point for his team.

In the final match of the week, FC Vastatores and Bukit Timah CSN played to a 2-2 draw. Despite Vastatores taking the lead twice through Luqmannulhakim Aziz and Mohamad Shareezan, Bukit Timah CSN's Indra Putra and Muhamad Sholihin leveled the score on both occasions.
