  • Week 29: RTSBFC Triumphs as Season Draws to a Close

In an eagerly anticipated Week 29 fixture of Division 1 of the Sunday Premier League, RTSBFC faced off against The German All Stars at GESS International School. While the result would have little impact on the final league standings—RTSBFC had already secured fourth place and The German All Stars would finish in sixth—the match still promised excitement for the fans in attendance.

The game kicked off with a bang as Desmond Ang netted an early goal for The German All Stars in the 6th minute, sending a ripple of hope through their supporters. However, RTSBFC responded resiliently, with Christian Rodrigues equalizing in the 25th minute. Both teams headed into halftime locked at 1-1, setting the stage for an action-packed second half.

Emerging from the break with renewed energy, RTSBFC took control of the match. Richard Kua found the net just three minutes into the second half, giving RTSBFC a 2-1 lead. With their tails up, RTSBFC pressed for more goals, but The German All Stars remained determined to find an equalizer. It wasn’t until the dying minutes that Ken Ji sealed the victory with a well-placed shot in the 80th minute, ensuring RTSBFC finished the game 3-1.

The joint top scorers for RTSBFC, Ryan Tan, Ken Ji, and Jonathan Lim, all concluded the season with seven goals apiece, while Danish Uwais finished joint seventh in the league MVP rankings.

Looking ahead, The German All Stars will face BFA Futefol in their final league game next week. This encounter carries significant implications for BFA’s Felipe Rocha, who is vying for the league MVP award, and could determine whether BFA secures a second-place finish in the standings.

As the season nears its conclusion, all eyes will be on the final fixtures as teams look to end on a high note.

  • Week 27: Saturday Nights Live Clinch Division 1 Title

Week 27 of the X-League's Division 1 Sunday Premier League delivered the most anticipated showdown of the season as league leaders Saturday Nights Live took on second-placed BFA Futebol. With the title on the line, both teams brought their A-game, and the atmosphere at the ground was electric, with supporters turning out in full force. BFA Futebol’s fans were treated to acai bowls from their sponsor, The Berry Spot, adding to the festive mood. Children played around the sidelines, heightening the sense of occasion for this titanic clash.

The match kicked off with both teams showing intent, as the stakes couldn't have been higher. BFA needed a win to snatch the title, while Saturday Nights Live knew a draw would be enough to secure their spot as champions. Their previous encounter, which was the season opener, saw Saturday Nights Live narrowly edge out BFA 3-2, and this rematch promised to be just as thrilling.

The home side struck first, with league top scorer Manish Prem coolly converting a penalty in the 6th minute, sending the keeper the wrong way and giving Saturday Nights Live a crucial early lead. Despite BFA’s relentless efforts to get back into the game, it was Saturday Nights Live who would score again in the 73rd minute when Maro Ramadan capitalized on a defensive mix-up to make it 2-0.

The final whistle ignited jubilant celebrations, with both teams displaying exemplary sportsmanship as they lined up to shake hands and express their gratitude to the supporters. A special mention goes to BFA's Felipe Rocha, whose standout performance brought him one step closer to clinching the League MVP title.

In our second game of the week, Shamrock FC delivered an unexpected thrashing, putting 11 goals past The West Face at Fuhua Secondary. Man of the Match Augustine Soong was unstoppable, netting four of the eleven goals in a dominant display.

  • Week 26: Naughty Devils Snatch Dramatic Draw, Chin FC End Season on a High

Week 26 of the X-League’s Division 1 Sunday Premier League brought its fair share of excitement, with six out of the nine teams taking to the pitch. As the season winds down, every point is crucial, and this week’s fixtures did not disappoint.

Naughty Devils FT, fresh off their victory against Pacey Blinders last week, were eager to continue their momentum as they faced the German All Stars (GAS) at the GESS International School. GAS, sitting in 5th place, had a golden opportunity to draw level on points with RTSBFC. The match seemed to be going their way early on, with Christopher Schwarz giving GAS a 2-0 lead by the 16th minute after netting twice in quick succession. However, Naughty Devils quickly responded, with Shameen Niyaz pulling one back in the 17th minute, keeping the match competitive with a 2-1 scoreline at halftime.

The second half saw a tense battle, with both teams pushing for control. In the 71st minute, Arya Prem became the hero for Naughty Devils, scoring a dramatic equalizer to level the game at 2-2. GAS, however, were relentless, and Steffen Hessel looked to have sealed the win for the home side with a goal three minutes into injury time. But in a stunning twist, Arya Prem struck again in the dying seconds, salvaging a 3-3 draw for Naughty Devils.

In our second match of the week, Chin FC capped off their season in style with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Shamrock FC. Thang Hlei Sum and Za Uk Mang were on target for Chin FC, who now climb to second place in the league standings. Whether they remain in the runner-up spot will depend on BFA’s upcoming results. Regardless, Chin FC can be proud of their debut season in the X-League, securing a place on the final podium and ensuring the team will walk away with silver or bronze medals.

In our final fixture, RTSBFC were awarded a 3-0 walkover victory against The West Face, who were unable to field a full squad due to a shortage of players.

  • Week 25: Naughty Devils Stage Dramatic Comeback to Defeat Pacey Blinders

Week 25 of the X-League's Division 1 Sunday Premier League featured just one match, but it was a crucial encounter as the bottom two teams, Pacey Blinders FC and Naughty Devils FT, faced off in a tense battle. With both sides struggling for form this season, the stakes were high as they looked to climb the league standings and end their campaigns on a positive note.

Pacey Blinders, who have yet to secure a victory this season, were desperate to change their fortunes. They got off to a promising start when Si Han, also known as Bobby, found the back of the net in the 18th minute. The goal gave Pacey Blinders a much-needed boost, and they managed to hold onto their slender lead going into the halftime break.

However, the second half saw a complete turnaround. Naughty Devils, determined to do the double over their rivals after a 3-1 victory in their first-leg encounter back in May 2024, came out with renewed energy and purpose. Their persistence paid off in the 53rd minute when Arya Prem equalized, bringing the score to 1-1.

With the momentum now firmly in their favor, Naughty Devils continued to press for a winner. Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Haresh Sasitaran stepped up in the 89th minute to deliver a decisive blow. His late goal secured all three points for Naughty Devils, who leapfrog The West Face into 7th place in the league standings.

For Pacey Blinders, the search for their first win of the season continues, while Naughty Devils can take heart from their spirited comeback as they look to build on this result in the remaining matches of the season.

  • Week 24: Saturday Nights Live Extend Unbeaten Run with a Clinical Victory

Week 24 of the X-League's Division 1 Sunday Premier League saw only one fixture on the calendar, but it was a clash packed with significance. Newly promoted Division 2 champions RTSBFC squared off against league leaders Saturday Nights Live, a team that has yet to taste defeat this season.

The first half proved to be a tight affair, with both teams demonstrating solid defensive play and cautious attacking strategies. As the halftime whistle blew, the scoreline remained deadlocked at 0-0, leaving everything to play for in the second half.

The breakthrough came early in the second half, courtesy of Division 1’s top scorer, Manish Prem. In the 50th minute, Prem showcased his clinical finishing skills, putting the home side ahead with a well-placed shot that left the goalkeeper with no chance. RTSBFC, who had managed to hold their own in the first half, appeared to lose their composure following the opening goal. Just three minutes later, Jethro Ng doubled the lead for Saturday Nights Live, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to make it 2-0.

With momentum firmly on their side, Saturday Nights Live continued to press, and it was Manish Prem again who sealed the victory. In the 68th minute, Prem found the back of the net for the second time, cementing his status as the league’s most prolific goal scorer and putting the result beyond doubt.

The 3-0 victory extends Saturday Nights Live's unbeaten streak and moves them up to 39 points in the league standings, giving them a comfortable five-point cushion at the top. As the season draws closer to its conclusion, Saturday Nights Live continues to solidify their position as the team to beat.

  • Week 23: Saturday Nights Live Dominate as Chin FC Crush RTSBFC

Week 23 of the X-League's Division 1 Sunday Premier League provided fans with another round of exhilarating football as six teams battled it out on the pitch. With crucial points at stake, the win pushed Saturday Nights Live to the top of the league standings once again, while Chin FC dismantled RTSBFC in a high-scoring affair

In our opening game of the week, Saturday Nights Live faced off against Shamrock FC at Tanjong Katong Secondary. The first half was a closely contested affair, with only Manish Prem's 4th-minute strike separating the two sides. However, the second half saw Saturday Nights Live shift gears, overwhelming their opponents with a barrage of goals. Azrin Hamdan, Ryan Nair, and Derrick Lim all found the back of the net, with Prem adding his second of the match. The 6-0 victory ensured that Saturday Nights Live maintained their position at the top of the league standings, showcasing their dominance yet again.

The second fixture saw The West Face take on Naughty Devils FT in a match that was effectively decided within the first 40 minutes. The West Face came out firing on all cylinders, netting four goals in the first half. Muhd Dannish, Farhan Hafis, Nicolas Ong, and Haziq Mohamadan each contributed to the goal fest, leaving Naughty Devils with no response. The win allowed The West Face to leapfrog their opponents in the standings, climbing into 7th place with a well-deserved 4-0 triumph.

The final match of the week featured a clash between last week's victors, Chin FC and RTSBFC, at Clementi Town Secondary. Chin FC stormed into an early lead, with goals from Van Bawi Uk, Bawi Run Peng, and an unfortunate own goal giving them a commanding 3-0 advantage within the first 20 minutes. RTSBFC responded with a spirited comeback, as Brandon Koh's clinical finishing brought the scoreline to 3-2. However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when another own goal by RTSBFC opened the floodgates. Chin FC capitalized, adding two more goals to secure a comprehensive 7-2 victory, solidifying their status as one of the division's top contenders.

As the season progresses, the competition intensifies, and Week 23 has only added to the excitement in Division 1 of the X-League.

  • Week 22: Chin FC Dominates While RTSBFC Triumphs in a Nine-Goal Thriller

Week 22 of the X-League's Division 1 Sunday Premier League delivered thrilling action as four teams took to the pitch. Chin FC clashed with Pacey Blinders FC, while RTSBFC faced off against Shamrock FC in what turned out to be a goal-laden weekend.

Pacey Blinders, a team that once dominated the X-League, continued their struggle this season, managing only two points so far. This week, they faced off against Chin FC, a team representing the ethnic community from Chin State in Myanmar and northeastern India. The first half was closely contested, with Chin FC taking a narrow 1-0 lead, thanks to a well-placed strike by Zothankhuma in the 17th minute. However, the second half was a different story. Chin FC shifted into high gear, leaving Pacey Blinders in their wake. Goals from Thang Hlei Sum, Ti Zar Aung, and Bawi Run Peng added to their tally, sealing an emphatic 5-0 victory. Chin FC's clinical performance highlighted the growing gulf in class between the two sides this season.

In the second match, RTSBFC and Shamrock FC delivered a pulsating encounter, with RTSBFC edging out their opponents in a 6-3 thriller. The first half was a whirlwind of goals, with seven of the nine strikes finding the back of the net before the break. Jonathan Ramakrishna and Christian Rodrigues found the target for RTSBFC, while Ryan Tan bagged a sensational hat-trick to propel his team forward. Despite Shamrock's best efforts, they couldn't keep pace with the relentless RTSBFC attack. The win allows RTSBFC, last season's Division 2 champions, to close the gap on the league leaders, though they still trail Chin FC by nine points—a deficit that may prove insurmountable as the season draws to a close.

As the race for the title heats up, the coming weeks promise more drama and excitement in the X-League.

  • Week 21: BFA Go Top for the First Time This Season!

This week, students from the Diploma in Sport & Wellness Management at Nanyang Polytechnic once again took charge of managing two X-League matches. Serving as Match Commissioners, they handled team coordination, social media updates, liaised with match officials, captured match photography, and crafted post-match reports. Each of the ten students experienced a variety of roles essential for running a soccer league game, from capturing moments behind the lens to providing live social media updates and documenting the match afterward.

Chin FC vs Saturday Nights Live FC
League leaders Saturday Nights Live suffered a scare this week when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Chin FC. With both teams tied at 0-0 at halftime, it was Bawi Run Peng who surprisingly gave Chin FC the lead in the 57th minute. Saturday Nights Live, who have remained undefeated this season, dug deep and equalized through Timothy See just two minutes from time.

    BFA vs Pacey Blinders*
Clementi Town Secondary School witnessed BFA Futebol clinch the top spot in the league with a convincing 3-0 victory over Pacey Blinders. This was followed by a rapid-fire double from Liam in the 63rd minute and Felipe in the 64th minute that slammed the door shut on any Pacey Blinders’ comeback hopes. BFA Futebol currently leads the table with 34 points. However, the race is tight as SNL trails by just one point with a game in hand. A highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash between Saturday Nights Live and BFA is scheduled for August 2024, which will decide the Division 1 championship. Stay tuned for this thrilling spectacle.

The West Face vs Shamrock FC*
The final game of the week saw Shamrock FC showing no mercy as they dominated The West Face, who were down to 7 men, in a commanding 6-0 win. Out the gate, Augustine from Shamrock FC scored the opener in the 4th minute with a stunning right-footed shot to the top right corner from distance. Irwan added a beautiful header in the 47th minute, followed by Kachai scoring in the 51st minute. In the 66th minute, Augustine netted his third goal for a hat trick and sealed the deal. A much-anticipated top-of-the-table clash between Saturday Nights Live and BFA is scheduled for August 2024, which could potentially decide the Division 1 title.

In our second game of the week, BFA secured a hard-fought 3-2 win against Shamrock FC. The match was given the green light to proceed just minutes before kick-off due to adverse weather conditions, adding to the drama. Shamrock, missing several key players at the start, quickly found themselves trailing as Rashe Abdul Rahman gave BFA the lead in the 3rd minute. BFA soon extended their lead to 3-0 with goals from Ricardo Freire and Liam George. However, Shamrock showed great resilience and pulled two goals back just before halftime through De Rozario Rainer and Delphis Chua. Despite a tense second half with numerous attempts from both sides, the scoreline remained unchanged, allowing BFA to clinch the victory.

  • Week 15: Chin and Shamrock Play Out Eight-Goal Thriller as Ryan Tan Haunts Former Club

In a pulsating encounter at Clementi Town Secondary, both Chin FC and Shamrock FC squandered their opportunities to climb the league table, ultimately settling for a dramatic 4-4 draw. Shamrock FC, trailing 4-2 with just 10 minutes left on the clock, staged a remarkable comeback courtesy of two late strikes from Asif Khaif.

Chin FC had taken the lead with goals from Felix Mangminlian, Ling Hung, La Bin Bwi, and Man of the Match Thian Fam Kim. Despite their commanding position, they were unable to hold off Shamrock's late resurgence. The result leaves Chin FC in 4th place and Shamrock FC in 5th, both teams unable to capitalize on the league leaders' absence.

In another standout match of the week, RTSBFC triumphed over Pacey Blinders FC, thanks to a phenomenal performance by one man: Ryan Tan. The controversial mid-season transfer of the double season Top Scorer from Pacey Blinders to RTSBFC proved decisive, as Tan netted four goals against his former club.

Pacey Blinders initially took the lead through Brandon Thio in the 14th minute, but RTSBFC responded emphatically. Danish Uwais and Muhammad Syafiq also found the back of the net, contributing to a 6-2 victory. Despite his scoring prowess, Tan's goals prior to the transfer will not count towards his season tally, rendering him ineligible for the Top Scorer Award this season.

The latest results have shaken up the standings, though Chin FC and Shamrock FC missed crucial chances to close the gap at the top. The competition is set to intensify as teams vie for the coveted top positions as we cross the mid-season mark,

A last-gasp winner by Kabir Mahrotri in the dying seconds secured a crucial 2-1 victory for BFA Futebol over Shamrock FC. The match began with Pedro Carlos Dutra Parra giving BFA Futebol an early lead in the 5th minute. Shamrock FC responded in the 49th minute with an equalizer from Hakim Azmi. Just when it seemed the match would end in a stalemate, Mahrotri's late heroics ensured all three points for BFA Futebol. The West Face stunned the leaders by taking a 2-0 lead with goals from Ayman Talib and Muhd Dannish. However, Saturday Nights Live showcased their resilience as Manish Prem pulled one back in the 58th minute before netting the equalizer just seconds before the final whistle. Chin FC missed a golden opportunity to close the gap on the top two teams this week as they were held to a 2-2 draw by the German All Stars. Despite a dominant 6-1 victory in their previous encounter, Chin FC found themselves trailing early in the match. Goals from Julian Sander and Markus Almeroth put the Germans in a commanding 2-0 lead within the first six minutes. Chin FC responded swiftly, with Zothankhuma pulling one back in the 14th minute and equalizing in the 25th minute. • Week 6: RTSBFC Stage Impressive Comeback

Week 6 of Season 15 in Division 1 of the Sunday Premier League showcased thrilling encounters as four out of nine teams battled it out on the pitch.

In the first fixture of the week, RTSBFC, the newly promoted Division 2 champions, displayed their mettle with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Pacey Blinders at Kranji Secondary. Despite trailing early to last season's top scorer Ryan Tan's opener, RTSBFC rallied back with goals from Jonathan Lim and Lucas Nguyen to take a commanding lead. Tan's second goal late in the game set up a tense finale, but RTSBFC held firm to secure the win, showcasing their determination to make an impact in the top flight.

Meanwhile, league leaders Saturday Nights Live continued their dominant run with a convincing 6-3 win over Naughty Devils FT, securing their second victory over them this season. Saturday Nights Live's unbeaten streak extends to four matches, firmly establishing them at the summit of the league standings with an impressive goal difference of +15.

  • Week 5: West Face Salvages First Point as Shamrock Surge

In the final week before the Muslim fasting month, four out of the nine teams took to the pitch for Week 5 action. Notably, Shamrock FC and Chin FC opted for a hiatus during this period, resuming play after Hari Raya in April 2024.

The opening fixture witnessed a riveting clash between Pacey Blinders FC and The West Face. Despite Ryan Tan's two-goal spree propelling Pacey Blinders to a 2-0 lead, The West Face rallied, with Daniel Martens pulling one back before halftime. A late surge saw Martens securing his brace and salvaging a crucial point for The West Face, ending the game in a 2-2 draw. This result marked The West Face's first point of the season, following three consecutive defeats.

In a surprising turn of events, Shamrock FC delivered a dominant performance against the German All Stars, securing a convincing 5-1 victory at the GESS International School. S. Akash, Hanafi Bohari, Augustine Soong, Al Martin Nabhaan, and Delphis Chua showcased their prowess in front of goal. With this win, Shamrock FC climbed to 4th place in the league standings, level on points with Chin FC and RTSBFC. Reflecting on the triumph, Shamrock's Team Manager stated, "We missed out on third place last season, tied on points with GAS, so we knew what we were up against. Having lost to them twice last season, the boys were determined to get the result this time around. We dug deep, strategized, executed our game plan well and got the result we wanted."

Season 15 of the X-League continues to deliver thrilling encounters, thanks to the support of sponsors such as @agentazharsulaiman, @hombretwentyone, @dendeng_duo, and @grandsportsingapore! ⚽

  • Week 4: VAR @ Jalan Besar Stadium

In Week 4 of Season 15, Division 1 of the Sunday Premier League showcased an array of exciting football encounters, with two teams vying for dominance at Jalan Besar Stadium and Chin FC making waves with their second consecutive victory.

This week, the X-League played a pivotal role in referee development in Singapore by featuring the clash between BFA Futebol and RTSBFC at the iconic Jalan Besar Stadium. The match, highlighted as the week's centerpiece, showcased a three-man referee team and a full VAR setup, creating a dynamic platform for furthering referee development initiatives. The lone goal of the match came from the foot of Man of the Match Felipe Rocha, who unleashed a well-struck volley just outside the box in the second half. Despite BFA's efforts, the crossbar denied them a second goal when Raynal Kamal Singh's long-range attempt rattled the woodwork. Newly promoted RTSBFC, striving to make an impact, faced their first defeat of the season. Special mention to The BerrySpot for treating fans to delectable Brazilian Acai desserts, adding sweetness to the entire experience.

Chin FC continued their stellar performance, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory against The West Face. The home team surged ahead with a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Vanlalvena and Laltlanliana. Simon Shahbaz pulled one back for The West Face in the 26th minute, but Thang Hlei Sum extended Chin FC's lead to 3-1 in the 51st minute. A goal from Daniel Martens brought The West Face within striking distance at 3-2 in the 63rd minute, setting the stage for a nail-biting finale. Despite relentless efforts, The West Face couldn't find the equalizer, leaving them in search of their first points of the season. The result propels Chin FC to an impressive 3rd place in the league standings.

The X-League, proudly sponsored by @agentazharsulaiman, @hombretwentyone, @dendeng_duo, and @grandsportsingapore, promises more enthralling encounters as Season 15 unfolds. Stay tuned for the electrifying action on the field!

After a narrow 3-2 loss to Saturday Nights Live in the season opener, BFA bounced back with an emphatic 6-0 victory against Naughty Devils FT, asserting their prowess on the field. Man of the Match, Felipe Rocha, led the charge with two goals, complemented by stellar performances from Sandy Baker, Francisco Toledo Costa (Chicão), Rashe Abdul Rahman, and Gaetano Seminario. • Week 1: New Teams Shine in Thrilling Season Opener

The kick-off of Season 15 of the Sunday Premier League Division 1 was nothing short of spectacular as six out of the nine teams entered the fray in a week filled with pulsating matches and remarkable performances.

This season marked the inclusion of four new teams, each bringing a unique flavor to Division 1. Saturday Nights Live FC, champions of the Sports4U Premier Division, showcased their prowess in a face-off against BFA Futebol, the team that secured the 2nd spot in the league standings last season. In a nail-biting encounter that went down to the wire, SNL emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline. Gautam Selvamany, Manish Prem, and Aloysius Chua found the net for the away side, maintaining their undefeated streak of over 50 successive matches.

The second game featured the German All Stars, who finished 3rd in the league standings last season, against former Saturday League Champions Naughty Devils F.T at Regent Secondary. A solitary goal by Christopher Schwarz in the 55th minute was the decider in this closely contested clash. Despite having their chances, Naughty Devils failed to capitalize, hitting the bar on one occasion.

In the final game of the week, newly promoted Division 2 Champions, RTSB, faced off against Shamrock FC at Unity Secondary in a contest promising fireworks. Ashvinath Narenderan opened the scoring for RTSB in the 26th minute, only for Augustine Soong to equalize for Shamrock 12 minutes later. With a 1-1 score at the break, Jonathan Lim and Ken Ji secured a 3-1 victory for the home side in the 54th and 70th minutes, respectively.

A massive shoutout to our league sponsors - @agentazharsulaiman, @hombretwentyone, @dendeng_duo, @grandsportsingapore - your unwavering support adds fuel to the excitement of Season 15 in the X-League Sunday Premier League Division 1.
