Team Report

Team Report

1st Half: I was very concern facing into today’s match. Considering that Stamford FC is one of our main rivals and a very strong respectively good squad with experience players. Newtons were short of players themselves with only 10 men turn up for the game. Red and I feeling unease at the turn out, Red carefully set out the line up and stress the importance of the state for this game. Confidently with upbeat approach, Newtons perform well in fact produces equal attacking chances. With careful balance with the back fours, Ronald, Kuma, Hilmi and Nashrin, Ronald command excellently well commanding his charge alerting for early interception when under attacks. The combination was brilliant for the back fours supporting midfields in the attacking mode. Bo Yanni and Zafrie were up to the mark controlling and commanding in the midfield area with the support of Norizwan on the right while Aris is on the left. They were very supportive when Newtons were under attack and quickly open up on attacking mode with few off-side calls- to our version was a wrong calls. The understanding between Zarie and Norizwan is good and from a fair perspective there is room for improvement to sharpen up if Nashrin were to play on the left wings. Having said that, Aris was good on the left ‘not his suitable position’ only his first game playing with big boys, given chance he will improve in times to come- he is only 16s. In the 20th minutes or so a break through for Zarie strong charge into the penalty box and foul in him for Newton’s penalty taken by Norizwan 1-0.
2nd Half: With 10 men still available for this 2nd half at 1-0 lead and Syahdirwan is still on his way after visiting his aunt in Johor Bahru. Newtons kick start with great composure carrying on from the performance in the 1st half. Stamford keeps up the momentum with stronger charge pounding Newton’s goal mouth and defensively alert Newtons could not clear the waves of attacks and around 10 minutes into the game a bounce ball inside the penalty box Stamford equalize from a header 1-1. In fairness, Newtons world class keeper just 17s with a small built of 15 year old command his department well. Haikal demonstrate enthusiastic performance despite his size. In the 20 minutes from Bo Yanni through pass clear Zarie to solo beat the defender and beat the goal keeper for his 1st goal and Newton’s 2-1 lead. Well deserves display all round for Newton’s youngsters with only 2 seniors ‘Bo Yanni and Zarie’ leading this 10 men Newtons. In 35 minutes another break when Norizwan pass deflect the defender gave Zarie another clear try from just outside the box and hit the right goal post for Newton’s 3-1 lead his 2nd goal. Not forgetting Stamford’s ability and talents they kept charging and Newtons holds the spirits of togetherness as a team and the pressure mounts on Stamford and tension emerge conceding fouls and yellow cards. Haikal and Norizwan felt the wrath of an adult’s power and so as Zarie got a bloody nose and yet Newtons was extremely steady by their ‘Play Ball’ performance, didn’t felt the tension by the aggressive play. Nashrin was cool…
