Team Report

Finally, the weather has spared us with a cloudy midday and some drizzle. The plan for the game was to try to play all around the pitch with high offside line. It worked immediately, perhaps too fast, as by 11th minute we were 2 goals up. Bugra and Anthony providing the cheers with nice team passing moves. Some time in the middle of the first half POS started to cause our defense problems. Main danger was coming from No.13, using his speed and skills, he was always able to break offside line creating numerous scoring opportunities. Finally, towards the end of 1st half he scored. In halftime, the decision was to rest strong players for 20 mins to finish strongly in the end of the game. I don't think it worked very well as second half started with numerous attacks by POS. Our goalkeeper was doing some fantastic saves until one mid-strength shot from beyond the penalty box pushed through his gloves. Poor decision to palm the shot up, he should have used fists. POS managed to hit a post and score from offside. It was only towards the end of the game when we took initiative again, and one needs to wonder how Pasha V had missed open net twice with foot and then a header. He said after 2-week break from football he wanted to score so much that he was losing composure right before the shot. The final whistle caught us in attack going for the winner but it ended as a draw. I think a fair result, both teams could have easily won with some luck on either side. Our MOM goes to goalkeeper Sergey, despite his blunder, he did keep us in the game after all. For opponents, it's clearly No.13, his running and the goal in the first half was key performance keeping POS in the game.
