The curtain came down on Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League this week with a final fixture that had everything on the line. Just two of the nine teams were in action, but the stakes could not have been higher. Druzhba FC needed a win against FootPanda FC to leapfrog Fajar Youngsters and clinch the final promotion spot. And they did not disappoint.
The star of the show was none other than Cheikh Boukal Ahmed, better known across the league as Bassem. The mercurial Druzhba midfielder put in a scintillating Man of the Match performance, finding the back of the net four times in a relentless display of attacking football.
The final scoreline of 8-2 in favour of Druzhba tells the story of a side who refused to let the occasion get the better of them. Nilo Mata Cervera netted a brace, while Emmanuel Lassalle, also known as Manu, and Ramon Dominguez chipped in with a goal apiece. Dominguez’s strike was especially poignant. A true Spanish X-League legend, Ramon will be returning to Spain in the coming weeks, and his farewell goal was a perfect ending to an 11-season X-League career in which he amassed 47 goals. Scoring in his final outing was simply the cherry on top for the Spaniard.
Even going down to ten men after Tin Vlasic was sent off for a second bookable offence did little to dent Druzhba’s momentum. The emphatic win secured third place in the standings and confirmed their promotion to Division 1 next season.
SEASON WRAP-UP...
Season 16 ends with Box2Box FC, Acolytes FC and Druzhba FC earning promotion to Division 1. Fazlur Rahman of Box2Box clinched the Top Scorer Award with 15 goals, while Westo FC took home the Fair Play Award with just 3 disciplinary points all season. Afiq Ramlee, who finished second in the goalscoring charts, claimed League MVP honours with 30 points, 13 clear of Southern Flowers’ Devin Yi.

Only four of the nine Division 2 sides took to the pitch this week in what was meant to be the penultimate round of the Sunday Premier League campaign. While two fixtures were scheduled, only one match was actually contested on the field, as disciplinary issues marred the earlier kickoff.
In the 11am fixture, Acolytes FC were set to face FootPanda FC in what was supposed to be a curtain-closer for the runners-up. However, Acolytes turned up in full force, ready for battle, while FootPanda FC were nowhere to be seen. With just one player from FootPanda present and two X-League officials on site, the game was officially ruled a 3-0 walkover in favour of Acolytes FC, in accordance with the league’s Rules and Regulations. The no-show prompted disciplinary action, with FootPanda FC issued a severe warning and fine.
The action picked up in the 1pm clash, where Pacey Blinders FC locked horns with Fajar Youngsters at Clementi Town Secondary. Khamarul Majid got the Blinders off to a dream start, rifling home in the third minute. But Fajar responded through Si Han, also known as Bobby, who levelled things up in the 14th minute. The remainder of the contest was intense but goalless, with both teams engaging in a tactical midfield battle. Emotions flared, and the referee reached for his pocket on multiple occasions, dishing out five yellow cards in a feisty affair that ended 1-1.
The result sees Pacey Blinders FC close their season in sixth place, steering just clear of the relegation zone. Fajar Youngsters currently sit in third but face an anxious wait. With one match remaining in the season, Druzhba FC could leapfrog them into the final promotion spot if they manage a win against FootPanda next week.

It was a defining week in Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League, with two pivotal matches that shaped the top of the table. Four of the nine teams were in action, and by the final whistle, one club had officially etched their name into the history books.
League leaders Box2Box FC capped off an outstanding campaign by sealing the Division 2 title, despite being held to a dramatic 2-2 draw by Westo FC, who sit eighth in the standings. While Box2Box had looked comfortable with a two-goal cushion courtesy of Muhammad Salmaan, who bagged a quick-fire brace early in the second half, Westo refused to back down. Mohamed Jafran pulled one back in the 73rd minute before Zhi Yong stunned the leaders with an equaliser deep into stoppage time. While Box2Box were unable to collect all three points, the result ultimately underlined their consistency and resilience as they clinched the Division 2 title with a five-point lead and just one game left for their nearest rivals.
The other key fixture saw second-placed Acolytes FC take on third-placed Fajar Youngsters in a game with high stakes. Acolytes struck first through Soumya Brata Das in the 16th minute, taking a slender 1-0 lead into the break. Khairulanwar Salih levelled things up with a fine strike in the 55th minute, but Dinie Tukiman quickly restored the lead for Acolytes three minutes later. With Fajar pushing forward in search of another equaliser, Tan Jovvan put the contest to bed two minutes from time to seal a 3-1 win. The victory moved Acolytes up to 32 points, but with only one game remaining, they can no longer catch Box2Box at the summit.
Box2Box FC’s title triumph is a testament to their attacking flair, defensive discipline and unwavering team spirit throughout the campaign. They now look forward to life in Division 1 next season, while the race for second place continues to simmer with just one week left to play.

It was a quiet week in Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League, with just two out of the nine teams in action. But the solitary fixture more than delivered, as Box2Box flexed their firepower in a convincing 6-2 win over Southern Flowers FC at Clementi Town Secondary.
Box2Box wasted no time asserting dominance. Fazlur Rahman opened the scoring within the first minute to set the tone for the afternoon. By the 17th minute, they had stormed to a 3-0 lead after further goals from Mathias Chin and Subhan Baathusha. Southern Flowers pulled one back through Ngai Thai in the 26th minute, giving them a flicker of hope before the break. The half-time score stood at 3-1 in favour of the league leaders.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with Box2Box continuing to find the net at will. Fazlur, Mathias and Subhan each added another goal to their tallies, putting the visitors firmly out of sight at 6-1. Ben Ho managed a second goal for Southern Flowers in the 68th minute, but it was little more than a consolation in a match where Box2Box’s attacking quality stole the show.
The result sees Box2Box extend their lead at the top of the Division 2 table with 37 points, further cementing their credentials as title favourites. Their pace, precision and ruthless finishing were on full display in a performance that sent another strong signal to their chasing rivals.
With the finish line of the season approaching, Box2Box remain in pole position to seal promotion, and they will take great confidence from this result as they look to finish the campaign in style.

Week 25 of Season 16 in Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League brought goals, shocks and a shift in momentum as four of the nine teams battled it out in two thrilling encounters.
In the first match of the weekend, Fajar Youngsters produced one of the upsets of the season with a sensational 5-3 win over league leaders Box2Box. Subhan Baathusha gave Box2Box the early lead in the 18th minute, but Fajar replied through Muhammad Nasruddin and Amat Jumaidi to go 2-1 up. Box2Box responded with two goals to take a 3-2 advantage into the break, with Subhan Baathusha completing his brace. However, the second half belonged to Fajar. Man of the Match Hasan Dailami delivered a statement performance, netting a superb hat-trick that turned the tide and sealed a dramatic comeback victory. It was a result that sent shockwaves across the division and breathed new life into the title race.
The second game of the week saw Pacey Blinders register a composed 3-1 victory over Westo FC at Clementi Town Secondary. The home side raced to a 2-0 lead within 14 minutes, thanks to two well-taken goals from Si Han, also known as Bobby. Westo responded through Ye Lin Myat, also known as Myatinho, in the 18th minute to make it 2-1 and keep the contest alive. The second half saw Pacey Blinders assert control, with Cheong Yue Seng adding a third to wrap up the points and push his team closer to the top half of the table.
With only a few weeks left in the season, the battle for promotion and survival is heating up and every goal counts.

Week 24 of the X-League Division 2 featured two key matchups at Clementi Secondary, with four of the nine teams taking the pitch in what proved to be a weekend of contrasting fortunes for the teams involved.
League leaders Box2Box extended their lead at the summit with a professional 2-0 victory over Southern Flowers. It was a composed and clinical performance from the pacesetters, who made their dominance count through goals from Benjamin Chik and Louis Joel. Chik, who dictated the tempo from midfield and chipped in with a goal, was deservedly named Man of the Match. The win moves Box2Box up to 34 points, four clear of second-placed Acolytes FC, as they continue their charge toward the Division 2 title.
In the second match of the day, Fajar Youngsters were left ruing a missed opportunity after being held to a 2-2 draw by Westo FC. Despite a brace from Firdaus Zailani, whose attacking flair and work rate earned him Man of the Match honours, Fajar could not hold on for all three points. Westo FC showed great resilience, fighting back through goals from Mohamed Jafran and Aqil Affendy, also known as Qenny, to level the tie.
The result is a frustrating one for Fajar, who had the chance to climb the standings but now find themselves level on points with Southern Flowers instead. Westo, meanwhile, remain in eighth place but will take confidence from their spirited display against a top-half side.
With only a few matchweeks left in the season, the race for promotion spots is heating up, and dropped points like these could prove costly for teams like Fajar chasing the pack.

Week 23 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw four of the nine teams in action, and while one match brought goals in abundance, the other delivered a tight, tactical battle with major implications in the promotion race.
After suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to FootPanda last week, Acolytes FC responded in ruthless fashion with a 6-0 thrashing of Pacey Blinders FC. The visitors wasted no time asserting their dominance, with Tan Jovvan opening the scoring in just the second minute. From there, it was a masterclass in finishing. Marcus Tan added his name to the scoresheet before Soumya Brata Das took centre stage, netting a blistering first-half hat-trick to send Acolytes into the break with a commanding 5-0 lead. Muhammad Fadhli added a sixth in the second half to cap off a dominant display that sees Acolytes maintain the pressure the top of the Division 2 standings.
In the second fixture of the week, Druzhba FC continued their late-season push for promotion with a gritty 2-1 win over Fajar Youngsters. Fajar drew first blood in the 35th minute through Hasan Dailami, but Druzhba hit back through talisman Pavel Volkov just before the break. Tin Vlasic then edged Druzhba in front with a composed finish in the 67th minute, and the visitors held firm under pressure to secure all three points. The result moves Druzhba into third place and firmly in contention for promotion to Division 1 next season.
A special mention goes to Pavel Volkov, whose equaliser marked his 11th consecutive league season on the scoresheet. The prolific forward has now racked up an astonishing 76 goals during that time, a testament to his consistency and quality.

Week 22 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 served up twists, turns and a healthy dose of late-season drama, with four of the nine teams in action across two fiercely contested fixtures.
Southern Flowers came into their clash against Pacey Blinders knowing that anything less than a win would dent their title ambitions. Just three points off the summit, the pressure was on. But in true Peaky Blinders fashion, their opponents had other ideas. What followed was a breathless 4-4 draw that showcased everything great about Sunday League football.
Southern Flowers looked to have done enough when they raced to a 4-2 lead in the second half, with Wong Yang Zhi, also known as Park, and Shawn Lai among the scorers. But Pacey Blinders were relentless. Haziq Fikri, Khaw Relph and Brandon Thio all found the net in a spirited fightback that ensured a share of the spoils. Neither side deserved to lose, and the result still keeps Southern Flowers within touching distance of the top.
If that wasn't dramatic enough, the second fixture delivered the shock of the weekend as league leaders Acolytes FC were stunned 2-1 by FootPanda FC. After a cagey first half ended goalless, Danial Anaqi broke the deadlock just after the restart. Acolytes responded almost instantly through Edric Shem Pereira, but parity was short-lived. Syawal Jasmi pounced in the 64th minute to restore FootPanda’s lead.
Despite Acolytes piling on the pressure, the equaliser never came. A post-match video review revealed they may have been denied a clear penalty after what looked like a push in the box, but in the world of social football, there are no linesmen and no VAR. The result could prove pivotal as the title race heats up in the closing weeks.

Week 21 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw four of the nine teams take to the pitch, with both fixtures delivering high-octane drama and end-to-end football.
At Fuhua Secondary, Druzhba FC finally returned to winning ways with a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Westo FC. The visitors struck first, with in-form Afiq Ramlee continuing his rich vein of form by slotting home in the 18th minute. Druzhba responded immediately through Tin Vlasic, who levelled just moments later to ensure parity at the break.
The second half saw Druzhba turn up the pressure. Cheikh Boukal Ahmed, known to fans as Bassem, gave the hosts the lead six minutes after the restart with a composed finish. But Westo, driven by the relentless energy of Ramlee, hit back in the 61st minute as the midfielder bagged his brace and restored the balance once more. With the game delicately poised, Adi Prnjavorac stepped up with what proved to be the winner, putting Druzhba 3-2 ahead in a tense finale. Westo pushed for another equaliser, but the hosts held firm to take all three points.
The second match of the weekend saw Pacey Blinders FC and FootPandas FC share the spoils in a pulsating 2-2 draw. Guan Yuan gave Pacey the perfect start with a 12th-minute opener, only for Yusoff Tahir to bring the visitors level just before half-time. The back-and-forth continued after the interval as Brandon Thio restored Pacey’s lead in the 52nd minute. But with six minutes to play, Zaynul Naqee pounced with a late equaliser to ensure FootPandas walked away with a deserved point.

Week 20 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 delivered end-to-end action and late twists, with six of the nine teams battling it out in what was a thrilling round of fixtures.
At Clementi Town Secondary, Druzhba FC halted their two-match losing streak with a gutsy 3-3 draw against the much-fancied Box2Box FC. In a topsy-turvy encounter, Druzhba looked set to snatch all three points when Cheikh Boukal Ahmed, also known as Bassem, fired them 3-2 ahead with just seven minutes left on the clock. But Box2Box had other ideas. Muhammad Syazwan struck in the 89th minute with a dramatic equaliser to deny Druzhba the win and keep his side firmly in the title race.
Elsewhere, Westo FC picked up a much-needed 2-1 win over FootPandas FC in a tightly contested affair. The first half was a cagey affair, with both sides cancelling each other out in midfield. The second half, however, belonged to Afiq Ramlee. The Westo midfielder turned the game on its head with two quickfire goals in the 41st and 48th minutes to give his side a two-goal cushion. FootPandas rallied, and Hairi Shahri pulled one back with nine minutes to play in what was also a Man of the Match performance. But despite their late pressure, the equaliser never came.
The final game of the weekend saw Acolytes FC pull off a statement 3-2 win over league leaders Southern Flowers, also at Clementi Town Secondary. Goals from Wei Li, Tan Jovvan and Soumya Brata Das were enough to edge a nail-biter and move Acolytes into first place in the standings. Southern Flowers fought hard and made it a close contest, but it was Acolytes who held firm to take the spoils in a match that could have gone either way.

Week 19 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw six of the nine teams in action, with plenty of goals, cards and talking points lighting up the weekend.
Pacey Blinders returned to winning ways with a composed 2-1 victory over Westo FC. After a cagey first half that ended goalless, the visitors found their rhythm. Si Han, better known as Bobby, broke the deadlock before Khaw Relph doubled the lead by the 58th minute. Westo pulled one back through Glenn Ong, but it proved only a consolation as Pacey Blinders saw out the match with little fuss.
Fajar Youngsters made it back-to-back wins with a gritty 1-0 triumph over Acolytes FC in a fiery contest. The match was packed with intensity, featuring four yellow cards and a red, with Fajar reduced to ten men late in the game. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Fajar had done the damage early. Muhammad Nasruddin fired home a sharp finish in the 11th minute that ultimately settled the affair. The Youngsters showed discipline and composure to protect their lead under pressure and continue their charge up the table.
The final match of the week saw Druzhba FC’s woes deepen as they fell 4-1 to a rampant Box2Box FC side. The hosts came flying out of the blocks and stormed into a 3-0 lead before half-time. Benjamin Chik opened the scoring, with Louis Joel adding a clinical brace. Kostya Gavrilov gave Druzhba a glimmer of hope just before the break, but any thoughts of a comeback were snuffed out when Mathias Chin struck in the 65th minute to seal a convincing win.
As the league heads towards its final stretch, momentum is everything, and this week proved just how quickly the tide can turn in Division 2.

Week 18 of the X-League’s Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw just four of the nine teams in action, but the limited fixtures produced no shortage of drama.
At Fuhua Secondary, Druzhba FC missed a golden opportunity to climb into second place after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat to sixth-placed Pacey Blinders FC. The match was goalless at the break, with both sides showing plenty of intent but lacking the finishing touch. That changed almost immediately in the second half. Brandon Thio fired the hosts into the lead in the 49th minute with a composed finish. Druzhba responded instantly, with Pavel Volkov thundering home the equaliser just a minute later. Volkov's tireless performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
However, it was Pacey Blinders who had the final word. With six minutes left on the clock, Si Han, also known as Bobby, popped up with a clinical strike to snatch all three points and send the home supporters into celebration. Druzhba were left ruing what could have been as their push for a top-two finish took a dent.
In the second fixture of the weekend, Fajar Youngsters claimed a vital 2-1 win over Southern Flowers FC to stay firmly in the hunt for honours. Despite going behind in the 42nd minute to a composed finish from Wei De, Fajar kept their cool. Their response came in rapid fashion after the break. Aqasha Zailani brought them level before Khamarul Majid added the winner just one minute later in a breathtaking spell of football that turned the game on its head.
As the season nears its climax, every match is becoming a must-win, and this week’s action showed once again that there are no easy games in Division 2.

Week 17 of Season 16 in Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League saw a thrilling return to action with two exciting fixtures, headlined by a top-of-the-table clash between Acolytes FC and Box2Box FC. With both teams neck and neck in the title race, all eyes were on this much-anticipated encounter at Clementi Town Secondary.
Their previous meeting in Week 2 ended in a dominant 5-1 victory for Box2Box. However, Acolytes FC came into this match determined to turn the tables. The match began at a high tempo with both sides looking sharp. Just two minutes before the break, Muhammad Fadhli gave Acolytes the lead with a well-placed finish, handing his team a 1-0 advantage going into the half-time interval.
The second half saw Acolytes turn on the style. Wesley Ong doubled the lead before further goals from Nazrudeen Shah, Jerome Thomas and Edric Shem Pereira sealed a stunning 5-0 victory. The result not only avenges their earlier defeat but also sees Acolytes FC reclaim the top spot in the league standings. This comprehensive win demonstrated Acolytes’ resilience and quality as they bounced back from adversity in spectacular fashion.
In the other match of the week, Druzhba FC secured a commanding 4-0 win over Westo FC to keep their top-three ambitions alive. Cheikh Boukal Ahmed, who is also known as Bassem, opened the scoring before Stas Mikhaylov and Samir Piriyev added to the tally. Emmanuel Lassalle rounded off the scoring to cap off an impressive performance. After a brief hiatus during the Muslim fasting month and Hari Raya period, action resumed in Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League with a fiery encounter between second-placed Box2Box FC and a determined Pacey Blinders FC side looking to climb the standings.
Only one match featured this week, but it certainly delivered. Pacey Blinders started brightly and were rewarded just before the break when Brandon Thio slotted home a well-taken opener. The away side went into half-time with a deserved 1-0 lead, having dominated much of the first half.
However, the script flipped completely after the restart. Whatever was said in the Box2Box dressing room worked wonders, as the home side came flying out of the blocks. Fazlur Rahman restored parity in the 46th minute with a composed finish, before Subhan Baathusha completed the comeback barely a minute later with a quickfire strike to turn the game on its head.
Box2Box continued to apply pressure and extended their lead in the 60th minute through Mathias Chin, whose strike gave them a 3-1 cushion. But Pacey Blinders were not done yet. Nigel Cheong pulled one back in the 72nd minute, setting up a tense finale with just one goal separating the sides.
Despite a flurry of late chances from Pacey Blinders, the hosts stood firm in defence and saw out the match to secure a crucial 3-2 victory. The result not only marks an impressive comeback win but also sees Box2Box reclaim their position at the summit of the Division 2 table.
With plenty of football still to be played, the race for the title is heating up and Box2Box FC have sent a strong message to their rivals.
In other news, Sparta Cowboys have officially withdrawn from the Sunday Premier League. All their remaining matches, including this week’s scheduled clash against Southern Flowers, will be recorded as three-nil walkover wins, and past results will be adjusted to maintain fairness across the league.

Southern Flowers turned the title race on its head with a sensational five-nil demolition of league leaders Acolytes FC at Clementi Town Secondary. Having suffered back-to-back defeats, few would have given them a chance against the division’s top side. However, in football, anything can happen, and Man of the Match Aldren Koh made sure of that with an extraordinary four-goal display.
The tone was set in the twenty-sixth minute when Chew Wei Jian opened the scoring for the home side. What followed was a ruthless five-minute blitz from Aldren Koh, who bagged a stunning hat-trick before half-time, leaving Acolytes shell-shocked and trailing four-nil at the break. Koh then added his fourth in the second half to cap off a memorable night for Southern Flowers, handing the league leaders their heaviest defeat of the season.
The result sees Southern Flowers climb to third, level on points with Box Two Box FC, who still have three games in hand. Meanwhile, Acolytes FC remain at the summit, but their lead is now vulnerable with Box Two Box close behind in the standings.
As the league heads into a break for the Muslim fasting month, Division Two action will be put on hold, with teams set to return after the period.
In other news, Sparta Cowboys have officially withdrawn from the Sunday Premier League. Week 14 of the X-League’s Division 2 saw plenty of late drama as Box2Box FC moved within striking distance of league leaders Acolytes FC with a thrilling 3-2 victory over FootPanda FC.
Man of the Match Fazlur Rahman was the star of the show, opening the scoring for the home side in the ninth minute. However, Box2Box’s early lead was quickly overturned as Cuba Raikkenon and Muhammad Elffie struck to put FootPanda 2-1 up. Despite relentless attacking play, Box2Box had to wait until the 70th minute to draw level, with Fazlur Rahman stepping up once again to net his second of the game. Just as it seemed both sides would share the spoils, Fazlur completed his hat-trick in the 89th minute, sealing a crucial win and keeping Box2Box firmly in the title race.
In the second match of the week, Southern Flowers missed a golden opportunity to close in on the league leaders, falling to a surprising 2-0 defeat against Pacey Blinders at Clementi Town Secondary. Two well-taken goals from Cheong Yue Seng stunned the third-placed side, handing Pacey Blinders a valuable win that sees them level on seven points with FootPanda FC in the standings.
In an unfortunate development, Sparta Cowboys have officially withdrawn from the Sunday Premier League with immediate effect. As a result, all upcoming fixtures against them, including this week’s scheduled match against Druzhba FC, will be recorded as 3-0 walkover wins. It was a quiet week in Division 2 of the X-League, with only one match taking place. However, that lone fixture produced plenty of drama as Druzhba Utd pulled off a shock 2-1 victory over second-placed Southern Flowers at Clementi Town Secondary.
With both sides having plenty at stake, Southern Flowers knew that a win would take them within touching distance of league leaders Acolytes FC, while Druzhba Utd had the chance to climb to third. A frustrating result for Southern Flowers, who missed the opportunity to close the gap at the top, while Druzhba Utd will be buoyed by a crucial win that propels them up the table.

Facing a Sparta Cowboys side reeling from a narrow 3-2 loss to Druzhba FC, the Acolytes struck first through Syafiq Juraimi, whose composed finish in the 20th minute gave the home side a slender 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half saw Acolytes ramp up the intensity, with Man of the Match Edric Shem Pereira doubling their advantage in the 50th minute. However, the Cowboys were quick to respond, with Afiqul Zulhilmi pulling one back just two minutes later to reignite the contest. But Marcus Tan restored Acolytes’ two-goal cushion with a clinical effort in the 65th minute, securing all three points for the home side.
The 3-1 victory marked Acolytes FC’s second win of the season, propelling them to the top of the league standings. Reflecting on their performance, the team shared, “A comfortable win on matchday 3 after a sour defeat last weekend. A great performance all around and positive vibes around the team!”
As the season progresses, Acolytes FC will be looking to build on this momentum, while Sparta Cowboys must regroup to stay in contention.
Season 15 of the X-League is proudly sponsored by Agent Azhar Sulaiman, Hombre, Dendeng Duo & Grandsport Singapore.

Week 2 of Division 2 in the Sunday Premier League delivered an absolute goal fest, with 15 goals scored across three pulsating matches. From commanding victories to last-gasp thrillers, the weekend had it all.
The opening clash saw promoted sides FootPanda FC and Southern Flowers lock horns. Despite their neck-and-neck rivalry in Division 3 last season, this encounter was one-sided. Southern Flowers cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory, courtesy of first-half strikes from Chee Choong and Devin Yi, followed by second-half finishes from Ari Storm and Aldren Koh. It was a perfect start to their campaign, leaving FootPanda still searching for their first points.
Next up, newcomers Box2Box FC delivered a statement of intent against Acolytes FC, dismantling last week’s 3-0 winners in emphatic style. Fazlur Rahman, the Man of the Match, stole the show with a sensational hat-trick, while J. Rhuban added a brace to complete the rout. Acolytes’ only consolation came through a late strike by Nazrudeen Shah, but the 5-1 result firmly established Box2Box as a team to watch this season.
The final match was a dramatic showdown between Druzhba FC and Sparta Cowboys. Druzhba struck first through Anatolii Romanov, setting the tone early, but the Cowboys equalized with a composed finish from Norahman Abu Bakar. Sparta then seized the momentum as Afiqul Zulhilmi fired them into the lead. However, Druzhba refused to back down, with Samir Piriyev leveling the score late in the second half. Just when it seemed both sides would settle for a point, Nilo Mata Cervera delivered a stunning winner two minutes from time, igniting jubilant celebrations on the Druzhba bench.
As the dust settles on an exhilarating weekend, Southern Flowers and Box2Box FC lead the charge with commanding performances, while Druzhba FC’s gritty comeback win underscores their fighting spirit.

The curtain was raised on Season 16 of Division 2 of the Sunday Premier League with two highly anticipated matchups, showcasing both new talent and returning contenders.
The Acolytes FC, making their X-League debut, lived up to their motto, Jogar Para Excitar (“Play to Excite”), with a commanding 3-0 win over fellow newcomers Westo FC at Clementi Town Secondary. The Lights, as they’re fondly known, took the lead in the 16th minute through Edric Shem Pereira’s composed finish. Jerome Thomas doubled the advantage in the second half before Muhammad Fadhli sealed the victory in the 57th minute.
Reflecting on the win, the Acolytes said: “Boys were rusty in the first 20 minutes after not playing for close to a month. But we gradually grew into the game. 3 goals, 3 points, and a clean sheet to boot! Overall solid team performance. Unbeaten in 7, we go again next week!” A debut win and a clean sheet will certainly boost their confidence as they continue their journey in the league.
In the second game of the week, Sparta Cowboys kicked off their season with a strong 3-1 victory over newly promoted FootPanda FC, who finished third in Division 3 last season. Sparta’s opener came in the 12th minute via an unfortunate own goal, before Ikram Ilhami made it 2-0 with a precise strike.
FootPanda pulled one back through Yusoff Tahir in the 30th minute, but their hopes were short-lived as Afiqul Zulhilmi restored Sparta’s two-goal cushion just a minute later. Despite an improved defensive effort from FootPanda in the second half, the scoreline remained unchanged, giving Sparta the perfect start to their campaign.
