Bestia United visited NYCFC in Week 24 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 in a potential title deciding match.
With Bestia leading the table by a single point over their closest challengers, Eunos Generation FC, the league leaders went into their final match of the season in full control of their own destiny. Anything less than a victory would open the way for Eunos to nick the championship on the final match weekend. And the nerves were really telling on the Bestia players as they tried to find some rhythm in their play during the opening stages of the match. NYCFC were no pushovers themselves and they were buoyed by their fine performance in their recent league victory over En Fuego. With both sides restricting their opponents to limited scoring opportunities, the match seemed destined to end in a draw. However in true championship drama, Bestia United mustered up a fine opportunity and scored an amazing goal to clinch the victory and claim the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 title!

En Fuego CF battled NYCFC in the solitary match of Week 23 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2.
Coming off a comfortable victory the previous weekend over Team Maestro, En Fuego were looking to maintain their momentum going into the final weeks of the league season. NYCFC, who at the start of the match had a 1 point lead over their opponents in the league table, were hoping to distant themselves from the chasing pack with the 3 points on offer. The match started cautiously as both teams were wary of giving the other the advantage. It soon turned into a open contest as both sides made mistakes and created sufficient chances to score goals. Muhammad Saufi aka Saufi, Muhammad Sufiyan aka Pian and Bahktiar Mohamed aka Bartz struck for En Fuego while Nor Isharuddin was among the goal scorers for NYCFC. The match ended with NYCFC edging out En Fuego by the odd goal in 7 and claiming all 3 points.

Week 21 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw a single game being played out as Jugar Duro Football Club hosted D’Angelos Saints.
The blockbuster match was played at Anderson Secondary School and it brought back memories of the epic 5-5 draw played out by both sides when they met earlier in Week 19 of the season. Both teams were hopeful of going one better by getting the vital win in their pursuit of a high finish in the league table. The match started on a cautious note as both sides were wary of giving too much away in the early stages of the game. As the match progressed on and more space was created, it was the home side that took control of the proceedings. Led by Man-of-the-Match Rozaidi Hamedi aka Dodi, Jugar Duro generated waves of attack and pressed the D’Angelos backline into retreat. A brace by Hamizan aka Mizan as well as strikes from Danish aka Dan and Afif Samari established a strong lead for the hosts and despite D’Angelos managing to pull 2 goals back, it was mere consolation as Jugar Duro sealed the win and secured another 3 points. As usual, the Jugar Duro team manager had his thoughts on the match. “Congratulations to my team for their wonderful performance that led to our victory. We will continue to fight to climb to the top of the league table!”

Week 20 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw 2 matches being contested.
In the first game, it was 3rd versus 4th as NYCFC hosted Jugar Duro Football Club. The hosts were not in action the previous weekend and were itching to get back on the field of play. Facing them was a pumped up Jugar Duro who got a point off former champions D’Angelos Saints in a high scoring draw the previous weekend. Chances were few and far between as both sides were wary of losing the match. The first half ended goalless as the two teams cancelled each other out. It was a totally different 2nd half as Jugar Duro came out with all guns blazing. Led by star man Rozaidi Hamedi aka Dodi, the visitors piled on the pressure and created more telling chances. They were rewarded in the 55th minute when Afif Samari struck to give them the lead. Hamizan aka Mizan then scored in the 70th minute to effectively end the contest and allowed Jugar Duro to pick up a precious 2-0 away victory. “Well done to my team. We are still unbeaten and we will continue to fight for the points and goals! Let’s do it Jugar Duro FC!” hollered the proud Jugar Duro team manager.
Over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, D’Angelos Saints visited Team Maestro. Interestingly, this was the first match up between the two sides in the league this season. With both teams at the wrong end of the league table, they were looking to garner full points and continue their climb up the league positions. D’Angelos started the brighter of the two teams as their experience shone through. The visitors created plenty of chances but were let down by poor finishing as well as some resolute defending by the hosts. Despite that, both sides were able to get on the score sheet and it held on to end the game as a 1-1 draw. Both sides had to be content with a single point a piece as they look to the coming weeks to get back to winning ways.

It was another exciting weekend of football in the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 as two matches were played out in Week 19.
D’Angelos Saints welcomed the arrival of Jugar Duro to Marsiling Secondary School. Both clubs were back in action after a week’s break and were looking to claim all three points on offer. It didn’t start out well for the visitors as they were missing a few of their star players in their line-up. And D’Angelos took advantage of the situation by racing to a 3-0 lead. However, the away side rallied and showcased the ‘Jugar spirit’ to stage an incredible comeback. Afeez Jamil scored a hat-trick for Jugar Duro and despite them conceding another 2 more goals, they managed to salvage their situation by scoring through M.Fakim and Muhammad Akmal. Final score was an entertaining 5-5 draw between the two sides. “ Despite not having our key players for the match, the team did not lose hope after conceding 3 early goals and came back to draw the game 5-5. Well done guys! Jugar Duro FC still fight for the top position and we won’t give up!” commented an elated Jugar Duro team manager after the game.
Over at Coral Secondary School, 1st place Eunos Generation FC took on 3rd place Bestia United. With both teams in good form, there was a danger of them cancelling each other out. Eunos Generation started brightly and took an early lead thru a clinical finish by Fauzi. Bestia came fighting back and were level by the 14th minute as Eddy Yusuf struck a beautiful equalizer. The match went back and forth as both sides took turns to find the winning goal. It was to be Bestia’s day as Danial struck the decisive blow in the 67th minute to give his team a precious 2-1 victory over the league leaders.

Over at Coral Secondary School, Frères and NYCFC were coming into the game off the back of contrasting results in the league. Frères, who were recently trashed 8-0 by Eunos Generation FC, were trying to salvage some pride with a better performance against a NYCFC side that dispatched former champions D’Angelos Saints with ease in their last league match. Frères were the better team in the first half and rightfully went into the break with a 3-2 advantage. However the second half was all NYCFC’s as Man-of-the-Match Hairi Talib provided individual brilliance to bring his side back into the game. A full set of fixtures were played out in Week 11 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 with the majority of the games being contested at Anderson Secondary School.
In the morning kick-off, En Fuego CF hosted Bestia United in a rematch of Matchweek 5. The home side were looking to avenge the 3-0 loss at the hands of the visitors. Aided by quality play by star man Izwan aka Pally, En Fuego raced to an early lead. However, the joy was short-lived as goals from Aiman Haziq and Ryan Sufiyan ensured Bestia went into the break with the lead in hand. It was all Bestia in the second half and a third goal from Hakim Abu put the result beyond any doubt.
Next up on the Anderson pitch were NYCFC and former Division winners D’Angelos Saints FC. Both sides were going into the match on the back of poor results as neither managed to get a win the previous weekend. These two teams had faced off previously in the league and D’Angelos were comfortable winners then. This match however proved to be a different story altogether. Man-of-the-Match Isharuddin was the toast of his team as he scored a splendid hat-trick to lead NYCFC to victory over the ex-champions. Hilmi Talib was the other goal scorer for the victors. A delighted NYCFC team manager gave credit to his star player Isharuddin as well as Hilmi for getting them the goals. “Our keeper Hariz also played well and he truly deserves to get his first clean sheet of the season.”

After unceremoniously surrendering their unbeaten record in their match against Bestia the previous week, Team Maestro were looking to resume normal proceedings against Eunos Generation FC in the match played at Ang Mo kio Secondary School. The final game of the day was between NYCFC and En Fuego CF at Anderson Secondary School. And despite their valiant efforts, En Fuego failed to claim the much needed victory as they succumbed to a 4-1 away loss. Goals from Ali Nuri, Haikal Talib, Fadzil and Rafiq ensured NYCFC registered their 3rd win of the season. The visitors’ solitary goal was scored by Bahktiar Mohamed aka Bartz.

After taking a point a piece from their match the previous week, Eunos Generation FC and Bestia United went one better by claiming all three in their respective matches in Week 8 of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2. Eunos got their 2nd win of the season after beating En Fuego CF 0-2 away at Anderson Secondary School. Md Ikram was the standout player for Eunos as he bagged himself a fine goal to follow up Abdul Rahim’s early strike. The defeat was En Fuego’s 3rd loss of the season.
Over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, Bestia United inflicted the 1st loss of the season unto Team Maestro with a 3-1 win in a fiesty encounter. Two goals from Aiman Haziq and a strike from Azril Othman were sufficient to see off the challenge of the visitors who have been unbeaten in the league season thus far. The only blot in the game for Bestia was a 77th minute red card for Hafiz Fizo, however they managed to hold on to their lead and pick up their 3rd win of the league campaign.

Team Maestro secured their 2nd win of the league campaign by edging out a luckless Frères side by the odd goal in 5. Having scored through Lum I-Zack (2) and Nic, Team Maestro allowed the visitors a way back into the match by conceding 2 goals as a result of their goalkeeper’s mistakes. “Our mistakes resulted in the opponents scoring their goals today. We hope to learn and improve from this” said a relieved Maestro team manager after the game.
In the mid-day match held at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, Bestia United and Eunos Generation FC had to settle for a point apiece as the two sides were unable to find a winner in their PSB Academy Sunday Premier League match. Erfan Suarez’s strike in the 18th minute cancelled out Arif Jamaluddin’s early opener and despite numerous attempts by both sides, the final result stood as a 1-1 draw.
Over at Mayflower Secondary School, cries of “JUGAR DURO IS BACK!” can be heard from the stands as Jugar Duro Football Club claimed their second win of the league season in a match played against En Fuego CF. Irfan Rahman was the star performer for the visitors as he scored two goals enroute to leading Jugar Duro to a 1-3 victory. En Fuego’s Kurniawan aka K.Raymond added insult to his team’s misery by being sent off after accumulating 2 yellow cards. The team manager for Jugar Duro congratulated his team on a fine performance. “Well done to the boys on getting our 2nd win of the season. We are Jugar Duro and We Will Never Give Up!”

Jugar Duro Football Club notched their first win of the season of the PSB Academy Sunday Premier League by edging out a resilient Bestia United by the odd goal in seven. Playing at Orchid Park Secondary School, Jugar twice took the lead in the first half through strikes by Irfan Rahman and Afeez Jamil. Bestia replied through goals from Zaid Zack and Ryan Sufiyan to level the match at 2-2 at half-time. In a back and forth second half, Hafiz Fizo equalised for Bestia a minute after Irfan had scored his second goal of the match. Danish aka Dan proved to be Jugar’s match winner as his 75th minute strike gave them the lead as they ran out eventual 4-3 winners. “Well done Jugar Duro CF. We are back. Jugar Duro CF will fight until the end. 'BILA-BILA JUGAR DURO!'” exclaimed an obviously thrilled Jugar team manager after the match.
In the other Division 2 match played at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School, NYCFC had a relatively easier time disposing of Frères enroute to a 3-1 victory. Coming off a draw the previous week, NYCFC were determined to claim all 3 points and scored through goals by Haikal Talib and Man-of-the-Match Saifullah Ibrahim (2). Frères are still winless after six weeks of games in the league campaign.

In a pulsating match played at Mayflower Secondary School, Team Maestro and NYCFC shared the spoils in a 10 goal thriller. Having been trailing for much of the match, Maestro did well to draw level and pull ahead in the hope of claiming a well deserved victory. However it was not meant to be as NYCFC’s Hairi scored with literally the last kick of the game to salvage a point for his team. A disappointed Maestro’s team manager lamented after the game – “ We fought back from 2-0 down to draw level to 3-3 at half time. We were dictating the game in the 2nd half and when we scored in the last minute to lead 5-4, I thought we would win the game. However, the match official was very lenient to NYCFC and allowed them more time to equalize right after the restart to end the match 5-5."
Over at Bedok Green Secondary School, Frères continued their wretched run of form as they suffered yet another loss at the hands of Eunos Generation FC. Frères could not handle the firepower of their opposition and were handed a 7-2 drubbing. Nazar Osman was in fine form for Eunos and he led the way with 2 goals to help his side pick up their first league win of the season.
Goals from Hariz Talib, Erfan Suarez and Ryan Sufiyan ensured Bestia United triumphed over En Fuego CF 3-0 in a match played at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. The visitors were on a high after their stunning win a week ago against former league champions D’Angelos Saints FC but were duly brought back down to earth by the defeat against Bestia who are still unbeaten in the league so far.

In what has to be the biggest upset so far, league veterans En Fuego FC shock former Division 3 champions D’Angelos Saints FC by beating them 2-0 at Sembawang Secondary School. Goals from Muhammad Nur Hakim aka Kim and Man-of-the-Match Norzurendy aka Andy Andy settled the ill-tempered match for En Fuego against the Saints who had J. Logeswaran aka The Terminator sent off for two bookable offences.

With former Division 3 Champions D'Angelos Saints FC not in action, week 3 of PSB Academy Sunday Premier League Division 2 saw the rest of the teams chasing the pack to pick up valuable points.
NYCFC, who lost previously to D'Angelos Saints FC, garnered their 1st win of the season by beating Eunos Generation FC 3-2 at Yio Chu Kang Secondary School. Musyadi Ismail aka Mus was the star player for the home side who edged out Eunos Generation FC, who had a man sent off.
Over at Bedok View Secondary School, Comeback Kings Team Maestro won an ill-tempered affair against Jugar Duro Football Club by the score of 3-2. Having taken a 2 goal lead courtesy of Daniel Fong and Lum I-Zack, complacency soon crept into their game and Jugar managed to draw level with strikes by Khairul Zaman aka Khai and A.Venga. Maestro then went all out for the winner and were duly rewarded when Lum I-Zack tapped in from close range. However Lum I-Zack went from hero to villian when he firstly missed a penalty and was shown a red card in the dying minutes of the game for an altercation with an opponent.
In the last game played at Sembawang Secondary School, goals by Abdul Qayyum aka Alem Sanz, Muhammed Faris aka Aris, Khairul aka Ban Persie and Izwan aka Pally inflicted a third straight defeat for Frères as they lost 0-4 to En Fuego CF. This was En Fuego CF’s first match of the new Division 2 campaign.

Mikael Piotrowzki was the toast of D'Angelos Saints FC as the Saints hotshot notched a stunning hat trick to lead his team to victory against NYCFC at the match played at Sembawang Secondary School. The 3-1 result means that D'Angelos Saints FC have garnered maximum points from the two matches played this season. Over at Yio Chu Kang Secondary School, Bestia United ran out easy 5-1 winners against Frères. The result will prove disappointing for the losing side as they had hoped to bounce back from their opening day defeat at the hands of D'Angelos Saints FC.
