Team Report

Coming back from a 3-weeks break, we dived in all rusty to play a game that can truly be described as a game of two halves. Though we felt we had the better of the first half and were unlucky to be a goal down, credit must still be given to the opponents for putting up a typical resilient display and taking their chances well in the second half.

Starting the game with exactly 11 players with no substitutions available (it ended worse), we were careful not to push ourselves too hard. Things took a turn for the worse when our RWF, Tasrif took a knock to his ankle and twisted it hard in about the 15th minute of play. From then on, we began to struggle in attack.

Missing our defensive midfielders who were away on holiday and one suspended for a contentious red card in our previous game, our midfield and defence still did well enough to give the opponents' midfield a tough day but we were oft sorely exposed on the counter-attack and our defenders performed admirably and without complaint even though they had a torrid time making up for the lack of a mid defensive element. A few strikers away on holiday and injury also accounted for our lack of direct shots when fatigue took over deep in the second half.

All three goals conceded can be considered to be soft goals due to lapses in defence but perhaps that day, Lady Luck also chose to smile upon our opponents. We also felt that some of the refereeing decisions could have gone our way but it was generally good refereeing throughout with only one or two dubious calls.

We look forward to our next game always taking positives from every match we play come victory, defeat or shared spoils.
