1st Half;
Socceritez FC vs Newton Heath has always been a good sparring match for my young players. The speed, flare, skills, sharpness demonstrates by the young Newtons while on the other hand experience, endurance, agility, sleek, strength displayed by the other team Socceritez. With just one senior player Fir.ORG assisting and leading this young squad; the drive experience, sleek, strength and agility was the key in this match. The young Newtons still have a lot to learn from this match if they are to handle this game without the assisting and guidance from our seniors. It was a good match displayed from both sets, Newton’s young blood energetic, full of stamina and skills but was out done by the endurance force of Socceritez. The intimidation tactics is one of the concerns young Newtons must overcome and dealt with from this point on to be able to handle at higher levels of the sport: the big boy’s game! 16minutes in to the first half the ball pumped in the penalty box and Adi managed to snatch the goal for Newton lead 0-1 Adi. Newtons still wait and hold back on every ball no sign of urgency to go for a win on every ball and suffered from a throw-in equalized 1-1 by number 88. Defensively everyone is puzzled should have clear the ball when under attack. The speed from Ikram and Norizwan spread wide when Ravin free kick foul on Ikram on the 27th minutes got a clear try for Fir.ORG to put it over the bar. Equally the game is interesting from both sides demonstrating tactics of its own in comparison against the young energetic, the more experience proves in the 35th minutes from a free kick foul by Syahdirwan a well struck for the right top corner of Haikal’s goal mouth to take the lead 2-1 number 65. In injury time again Newtons ‘Hilmi’ wait for the ball to bounce instead of going for the ball and clear from the danger zone lucky saves by Haikal. Persistent display from Socceritez emerge the winner in this half and deserve the lead with strong character of the sport for young Newtons to educate from. Injury time Hilmi mistake long pass the ball deflect on to the opponent for a chance to score but Haikal produces a stunning saves again. Decisions making by omitting double choices in mind to react is the key factors to slow you down or advancing on the next move. Without the command in the back four represents lacking of control in urgency of ball winners.
2nd Half;
At 2-1 down, it has been a concern for the young Newtons dealing with the game in such spirit of team intimacy facing the character of its opponent in such dramatic value of experience. The intimidation value was the key factor Young Newtons need to get use too and dealt with combine with the hard, harsh play to reflect on and understands to turn it around to their advantage. On the right flank attack Norizwan moves in for a shot to put the ball swerve out wide. Newtons continue with sharp movement attacking from the built up by Fir.ORG it was a hard fought by Socceritez and Farhad his first game returning from a long time serving Woodlands COE. Dispatches few skills pushing up the attacking mode when from a great built up good control and composure Farhad side pass to Adi and Adi lay out from Norizwan follow up back to Adi to than slot a through ball for Norizwan to just place with his left foot and level 2-2 Norizwan. Socceritez pick-up few yellow cards from their harsh hard display of the game when their number 61 pick up another for arguing with the referee and intimidation tactics to mind game the referee. Melvin subs for Ravin and just a few minutes later Melvin tackle earns Socceritez a free kick. Again the young Newtons caught off guard from the set play displaying lacking of concentration, alertness with no sense of urgency picking out on defense mode. Well taken free kick centre in to penalty box a bounce ball across for number 88 to head for the goal 3-2 number 88. The signs of relenting seem not in the young Newtons vocabulary when from waves of attacks Farhad shot was handled and Newtons was awarded a penalty. As normal the penalty should be taken by Norizwan but Rasull emerge his desired to take the kick. It was a poor free kick taken by Rasull straight to the keeper. I hope Rasull will rise to improve from this poor free kick he has the potential in the sport. This match is a learning lesson for the young Newtons that they will need to develop strong sense of physical mentality when facing this type of quality when no experience seniors to assists them. From time these squad is improving every time under my command, I am proud to be part of this squad. The attitude characters of each of them entice me to focus on making them recognize in the sport and around the leagues in Singapore, because they deserve it. For the pass two years day in and day out the same faces I see and they has proven Champion in the first year of X-league when they took over the responsibility from the Seniors who then record huge points for the lead. I hope and believe in the second season more achievements.
