Team Report

Dboys went into the game after beating the title contenders 4-1 the previous group. Dboys had a makeshift defence as their first team defenders were out injured. Captain Viknesh and Saravana took charge at the back while Azar and Joseph took charge of the flanks. The game started off brightly with Jagan and Thineesh combining very well in the midfield. Reshi and Siva both dominating the front.

Though Dboys were playing well, the first goal came from the oppositions through a corner. Dboys lately have been caugh for defending poorly for set pieces a couple of times. Though the opponents took the lead, Dboys pressurized their opponents. The equalizer goal came soon after the opponents scored. A excellent long through ball from Joseph from the left flank was brilliantly brought down by Siva. With an excellent control, Siva skipped past 1 defender and slotted the ball pass the goal keeper to bring the score to 1-1. Dboys kept pressing for the goal, but the opponents stood strong. The first half ended in a draw.

For those who though it was going to be another stalemate in the 2nd half were proved wrong. Dboys again were vulnerable in handing the opponents superiority on the air and they conceded another goal via another corner. 2-1 to Socceritez. But as usual, Dboys kept their cool and played on. This time round the goal from a corner for Dboys. Siva put in a far post in swinger cross, which was met by Sara. The ball fell to Azar and he took a shot just right infront of the goal post. The ball was blocked by the defender but Reshi was right there for the rebound to blast it into the net to make it 2-2 for Dboys. From then on, Dboys took charge. An excellent one-two pass between Reshi and Firdaus, let Firdaus through on goal. Unselfishly, he squared the ball to the right past the keeper for Pritheevi to slot the ball in the net. 3-2 for Dboys. Dboys continued to pressure. An error from Socceritez GK resulted in the next dboys goal. The goal keeper ran out of his box to clear the ball. The ball landed straight at Reshi who was at Dboys half near the half line. One look, and he lobbed the goal into the empty net over the on rushing Socceritez Goal Keeper. 4-2 to Dboys. However, Socceritez gave Dboys a hard fight. The clawed 1 more goal back through a set piece which was squandered by Dboys Keeper. The score at 4-3, Dboys pressured again. Firdaus again beating past 2 players and an one-two with Reshi put him through on goal. With just the keeper to beat, he slotted the ball into the net to make it 5-3 to Dboys. However, another long ball from the Soccertiez was not handled well by Dboys defence. Socceritez collected the ball well and got a goal for his side. Both teams kept pressing, however the game ended with Dboys winning 5-4.
