Team Report

It was a return fixture between teams who have a lot of mutual respect for each other. Druzhba have been one of the toughest teams to break down and with Pacey Blinders continuing to keep pace at the leaderboard, this was a must-win fixture for Kamikaze MMXV.

Captain Kaviraj led from the start and followed the brief to a tee as he gave the team a vital lead dispossessing the Druzhba rightback before slotting calmly to score his 7th of the league campaign.

However, Druzhba were unfazed as they kept their shape immaculately organised and despite what MMXV threw at them, remained resolute in defence.

It took another silky dribble from Kaviraj to unlock the defence, this time winning a penalty after he was fouled inside the box in the 50th minute. Jeeva stepped up to take the spot kick and doubled Kamikaze’s lead.

There was still time for the icing on the cake as wonderkid Irshad scored a well-taken free-kick to bring the third goal and all 3 points home.

It was indeed a satisfying win against a very tough opponents but the management had strong words for the MMXV boys. “It’s still a long season ahead and anything can happen. The only way ahead is to work on our basics and seek to improve with every minute on the pitch”
