For FC Rovers, the draw represents their first point of the season while Northwest Spartans moved up to third spot. The match started on a rather high tempo with FC Rovers taking the lead as early as the 9th min through Sharul. Mhd Suffian then made it 1-1 when he rammed the ball into the top right hand corner of goal in the 21st min. The Spartans then took the lead through Man of the Match Jeremy Tan, when he took advantage of a poorly taken goal kick before Yuswira evened the score with a well taken free-kick from 20 meters out. HT 2-2. FC Rovers restored their lead through Khairul in the 53rd min but that too was quickly cancelled out by super-sub Kenny Chong just five mins later. Kobetsan Atan then restored the Spartans lead in the 64th capitalizing on a defensive error before slotting the ball past the keeper. The Spartan spirit however, rubbed off on their opponents when Khairul beat two defenders before finding the back of the net in the 66th min to earn his side their first point of the season.

The half-time score however, read 3-2 in favour of Height Rovers thanks to a close range attempt by Firdaus and a couple of sweetly struck volleys by Zulkarnain and Azman. HT 3-2. FC Rovers came out of the break all guns blazing and emulated their first goal with another outrageous lob from the half-way line, this time by Yuswira in the 50th min. Budak Pondok went into half-time with a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to Muhammad Firdaus and Man of the Match, Muhammad Fazzeli aka Afad. HT 2-0. Bukit Batok East CSC came out of the break the hungrier side and pulled level with fine efforts in the 47th and 50th min. Muhammad Fazzeli however, restored Budak Pondok’s lead in the 57th min but that was also quickly cancelled out just two mins later when the home team equalized. Controversy surrounded Ace galaxy’s 3-1 win over Adi-Dogg at Naval Base Secondary. Anthony Tan gave the home side the lead in the 15th min when he tapped the ball into the back of the net following Muhammad Alif’s solo dribble into the penalty box. HT 1-0. Miscommunication between an Adi-Dogg defender and his goalkeeper saw Muhammad Ashik make it 2-0 just two mins into the second half when he capitalized on a misplaced back pass. Muhammad Sulaiman deservedly pulled a goal back for Adi-Dogg in the 50th min with a well weighed lob from the edge of the penalty box that sailed past the outstretched keeper. Controversy struck in the 58th min when Nur Alif's brilliant 35 metre lob found the back of the net, literally. The goal was heavily disputed by Adi-Dogg players as they claimed that the ball had entered via a torn portion of the net. Disputes are often a part and parcel of football (As seen in the EPL every week)-Sometimes they work for and at times against you.

  • Week 5: Bukit Batok CSC and Height Rovers start the New Year on a high!

Bukit Batok CSC moved to the top of the table for the first time this season with a dominant 5-1 win over Adi-Dogg at Ang Mo Kio Secondary. But it was Adi-Dogg that took the lead in this clash thanks to Leslie’s close range effort in the 22nd min which had calls for offside from the opposing bench. It took the visitors just ten mins to pull even with Wan capitalizing on a shot that had been spilled the opposing keeper. Hidayat then gave his side a 2-1 lead going into the break when he latched onto a through ball before placing it past the onrushing goalkeeper. HT 3-1. Following an inspiring half-time team talk, Adi-Dogg had the worst of starts in the second half conceding a goal in the 42nd min when Hakim tapped in a cross that was squared across the goalmouth. Two more goals by Alif in the second half capped off solid performance that reiterated Bukit Batok CSC’s status as the team to beat this season.
Final Score: Adi-Dogg 1 Bukit Batok CSC 5

Height Rovers made it three wins in three matches sending them to second spot in the league standings with a 5-1 over Northwest Spartans. The match was a tale of two halves with the Spartans going into the break with a slender 1-0 lead. One can only imagine that Height Rovers went through Alex Ferguson’s hairdryer treatment at half time as they came out of the break the hungrier side and deservedly pulled even in the 42nd min through Hamdan. It was 2-1 just eight mins later thanks to a sublime curler from outside the penalty box into the bottom left hand corner of goal. Further goals from Luqman, Faizal and a second for Hamdan sealed a fantastic start to the New Year for the home side who see themselves reaching new ‘Heights’ this year!
Final Score: Height Rovers 5 Northwest Spartans 1

Ace Galaxy and FC Rovers promised to be a cracker and it didn’t disappoint as the match conjured up a ten goal thriller. Cries of a ‘boring match’ could be heard from the Ace Galaxy bench before kick-off when they saw their opponents start the game with only eight men. So it was to everyone’s surprise when FC Rovers took a shock 2-0 lead by the 13th min thanks to Hafizul’s rocket from outside the box and Khairul Hamid’s header which lobbed over the goalkeeper. Ace Galaxy eventually found their feet and equalized before half time through Alif and Anthony. HT 2-2. It was all Height Rovers in the second half with hat-trick hero Ashik leading the charge. Further goals from Alif and Shamir capped off and amazing comeback for Ace Galaxy which now see their side stamp their mark as potential title contenders.

  • Week 4: Soldiers battle to 3-3 draw!

The match between Ace Galaxy and Vatolocos, teams from the same Army camp, promised to be a war and it didn’t disappoint. With both teams going into the break tied at one a piece thanks to solo efforts by Amry and Sufian, onlookers were in for a treat in the 2nd half. An own goal gave Vatolocos a 2-1 lead in the 52nd min before Alif aka Botak clinically finished his chance from close range to bring the score-line to 2-2. Amry then scored what Vatolocos thought was the winner in the 75th min when he capitalized on a fumble by the opposing goalkeeper. Late drama in the dying seconds of the game as Hisham was given the marching orders for a late challenge which lead to a direct free-kick. Up stepped Rahman, who curled the ball past the diving keeper sending the Ace Galaxy bench into a frenzy. Look out for World War III in the return leg folks.

Bukit Batok CSC look like genuine title contenders and they proved it once again this week beating league favourites FC Rovers 3-0 at West Spring Secondary School. Take nothing away from FC Rover’s performance though, as two of the three goals scored in the match were down to a comedy of errors. Bukit Batok CSC found themselves 2-0 up by the 23rd min thanks to an own goal and a long range effort that was spilled by the goalkeeper presumably due to the wet surface of the ball. Hafiz then scored what proved to be the winner in the 32nd min when he latched onto a through ball before making no mistake from close range. FC Rovers valiantly held off Bukit Batok in the second half and were unlucky no to have scored at least a goal despite finishing the match with only 10 men.

  • Week 3: Bukit Batok East CSC start their campaign with a win against league leaders Vatolocos!

Having lost their opening game of the season 7-1, Adi-Dogg couldn’t have chosen a tougher opponent to get their season back on track. This week there were up against FC Rovers who once went seven games unbeaten in the X-League. Not surprisingly it was FC Rovers that took the lead in this clash with Khairul scoring a solo effort which saw him beat a defender before chipping the ball over the onrushing keeper. HT 1-0. Following a scramble in the box in the 51st min, Hairil capitalized on a loose ball by blasting his shot into the roof of the net from close range bringing the score to 1-1. Eight mins later, Leslie, scored what would prove to be the winner with a simple tap in from close range after the keeper had parried a well taken free kick. Adi-Doog indeed proved in this clas that ‘Impossible is Nothing’.
    Final Score: FC Rovers 1 Adi-Dogg 2

Over at West Spring Secondary, league leaders Vatolocos suffered their first loss of the season going down 3-1 to Bukit Batok CSC who were playing their first game. Eric Etlanta aka Rico opened the scoring in this tie when he gave Vatolocos the lead with a clinical finish in the 20th min. The slender lead however was short-lived, as Bukit Batok CSC pulled a goal back almost immediately. Bukit Batok would then go on to take the lead going into the break in the 33rd min. Goals from Hafiz, Rafi and Hilmi at the end of the day sealed the win for Bukit Batok CSC who in our opinion looked like genuine title contenders.
Final Score: Vatolocos 1 Bukit Batok East CSC 3

Budak Pondok FC, who were hot favourites to lift the title before the season kicked-off have had the worst possible start imaginable. Their 5-3 loss to Height Rovers this week means that they have now lost all three of their matches to date. Man of the Match and hat-trick hero Mohd Fauzi aka ‘Ogy’, gave Budak Pondok a 2-0 lead in the 21st min with his first goal coming in the form of a spectacular first time volley off a diagonal ball from the middle of the penalty box. Sufian then pulled a goal back for Height Rovers seconds before half-time when he headed the ball into the back of the net from close range. Height Rovers came out of the break all guns blazing and were 3-2 up by the 48th min thanks to a fine effort by Mutalib and a cheeky flick by Faizal. Despite Fauzi drawing level for Budak Pondok in the 53rd min, there was no stopping Height Rovers from earning a famous comeback victory thanks to Hamdan and Sofian’s fine efforts mins later.

  • Week 2: Vatolocos go top with commanding win!

Vatolocos moved to the top of the Div 2 table with a 7-2 mauling of Adi-Dogg at Coral Secondary School. Playing their first game in the X-League, Adi-Dogg were given a rude awakening going 4-0 down by the 20th min thanks to hat-trick hero Salihin and an amazing long range effort by CZul. Salihin then capped off a miserable first half for Adi-Dogg when he curled a free-kick into the bottom left hand corner of goal in the 32nd min. HT 4-0. Adi-Dogg came out of the break a much better side and pulled a goal back in the 47th min through a well struck effort from outside the penalty box. A good run down the right flank saw Amin further extending Vatolocos’s lead in the 54th min with a powerful shot into the top right hand corner of goal. Despite Adi-Dogg’s best efforts, Vatolocos went on to score two more goals in the second half bringing the final scoreline to 7-2.
    Final Score: Adi-Dogg 2 Vatolocos 7

Following their hard fought 2-1 loss to Vatolocos last week, Height Rovers were determined to get their season back on track and did so in dramatic fashion. This week there were up against Ace Galaxy and what a match it turned out to be. Kadir gave Height Rovers a 1-0 lead in the 26th min latching on to a good through ball by Luqman before beating the goalkeeper and cheekily running across the goal-line. HT 1-0. The second half of the game saw five goals with Ace Galaxy scoring a dramatic equalizer through a powerful free-kick from 25yards out. Just a min later, Height Rovers regained their lead with a free-kick of their own through Hamdan who fooled the goalkeeper with a powerful in-swinging shot from the right side of the penalty box. Luqman then made it 3-1 in the 60th min with a sublime ‘Henry’ like finish beating the offside trap with a clever run down the left flank. Height Rovers were unlucky to have conceded an own goal in the 61st min but that was quickly cancelled out nine mins from time when Hamdan sealed the game for his side with a clinical finish from close range.
Final Score: Ace Galaxy 2 Height Rovers 4

Northwest Spartans got their campaign off to fine start landing Budak Pondok their second loss of the season at the Khalsa Premier Pitch. The Spartans took the lead in this tie as early as the third min of play blasting the ball from the edge of the box right down the middle of the goal. It was the Farouq show from then onwards with the forward scoring a hat-trick thanks to a well placed header, free-kick and a first time volley from inside the penalty box. Having seen their side relegated from Div One last season, looks like the Spartans mean business this time round. Teams beware.

Ace Galaxy kicked off their campaign against highly rated Budak Pondok beating them 2-1 at Ang Mo Kio Secondary School. Two goal hero Jason Teo, dramatically sealed the game for his side in a span of 2mins with his first coming in the 73rd min. He then dribbled past two defenders before placing a low hard shot into the far corner earning his side three points in the 75th min of play.
