The Maccabees were smarting from their previous defeat to Deaf United and were waiting for this game to set the record straight. The boys needed no motivation when the manager of the Macs team forwarded the players a blogsite link detailing how the Macs were defeated by the silent strength of Deaf United in the previous encounter. That must have done the trick as the Macs team that took the pitch went for the jugular from kickoff and gave Deaf United no time to breathe. By half-time, it was game, set and match with Dillen Selvarajoo netting 5 goals in the 1st half alone. He went on to score one more in the 2nd half to complete his double hat-trick. The game ended 8-0 in favour of the Macs who cast aside any doubts of their intention to secure the Div 5 title. Kudos to the Maccabees for winning in style and more importantly, playing with sportsmanship.
