Week 28: Height Rovers Are Champions
Height Rovers were crowned Div 1 Champions of the Sunday Premier League this week when they beat APMFC 6-0 in a feisty affair. Tied on points, league leaders APMFC came into this tie with a superior goal difference and only needed a draw to lift the title. With both teams starting the game cautiously, the defending champions took a shock lead in the 25th min when Mohammad Idros curled in a beautiful long range effort to everyone’s amazement. HT 1-0. Both teams then came out of the break all guns blazing but a through pass from Mohd Riswan in the 50th min found Mutalib Ahmad who slotted home from close range. It was 3-0 just eight mins later when Man of the Match, Mohd Riswan, tapped the ball into the back of the net following some nifty wing play.
Changing your tactics to “All Out Attack” on FIFA does have its benefits but it also leaves your defence exposed and in the 72nd min APMFC needlessly conceded a free kick against the run of play. Up stepped Mohammad Hamdan who clinically put away his effort leaving the keeper no chance the moment the ball left his foot. Further goals from Mohammad Taufiq and Danial Mazlan five mins from time sealed the game for Height Rovers and their second Div 1 crown.
Over at Sembawang Secondary, Street Predators ended their campaign with a 6-2 win over Lionheart FC Braves thanks to a hat-trick from Man of the Match Mohammed Sabri.
What a dramatic season it’s been with Height Rovers winning the title on the final day of the season. The two time Div 1 Champions and former Div 2 Champions end the season with 40 points having scored a whopping 68 goals in the process giving them a 4.25 goals per game average. APMFC finish with 37 points having scored the most number of goals all season (85) while Street Predators end the season in third, tied on points with APMFC.
Aqi Ahmad Eunos of APMFC walks away with both the Golden Boot Award and the League MVP having scored 31 goals over the course of the season.

Week 27: Height Rovers set up dream finale
Defending Sunday Premier League Champions, Height Rovers, set up a dream finish to the league this week when they beat Lionheart Braves 8-1 at Coral Secondary. Shaiful Abdul Rahman gave the home side a 1-0 lead in the 10th min before making it 2-0 going into the break. Faud Ali then made it 3-0 six mins into the second half before Mohammad Hamdan and Man of the Match, Muhammad Ramdan added another five.
The win sees Height Rovers tied on points with league leaders APMFC but with an inferior goal difference. Only a win will guarantee them the title in the final week of the season.

Week 26: Yishun Predators move up to second spot with emphatic win
Yishun Predators move up to second spot with emphatic win
Fourth placed Yishun Predators garnered their most crucial win of the season this week when they beat third placed FC Rondo 6-2 at Anderson Secondary thanks to goals from Miftahul Arifin (2), Muhammad Sallehan, Kelvin Krishnan, Muhammad Fairus and man of the Match, Muhammad Arif. The win sees the home side move up to second in the league standings, tied on points with defending Champions, Height Rovers.
Over at Woodlands Secondary, Cheng San Seletar CSC ended their season with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Lionheart FC Braves. Cheng San, who started the season as one of the favourites to win the league title failed to live up to the hype and end their campaign in 5th place, having only won six of their sixteen scheduled matches. The result sees Lionheart remain in 6th place, tied on points with Cheng San with one game in hand.

Week 25: Yishun Predators close in on top 3
Yishun Predators moved to within two points of FC Rondo this week after they beat Lionheart FC Braves 6-1 at Anderson Secondary. Man of the Match, Muhammad Riyadh was on target twice for the away side and was joined by Miftahul Arifin (2), Muhd Nur Nashrun and Ridhuan Roslan.
With Berossia Dokmano pulling out of the league due to unforeseen circumstances, APMFC were once again beneficiaries of a 3-0 walk-over win and as a result of that, further extended their lead at the top of the league standings. Knights FC also found themselves in the same boat against Marceles Juniors FC.

Week 24: Top 3 teams pull away from the pack
APMFC, Height Rovers and FC Rondo all secured vital wins this week with FC Rondo coming away the biggest winners thanks to an 8-2 mauling of Knights FC at Pierce Secondary. Over at Pasir Ris Secondary, Man of the Match Aqi Ahmad Eunos bagged a hat-trick for APMFC in their 7-3 win over Lionheart FC Braves and was joined by Farouq Farkhan (2), Farihin Farkhan and Faiz Kobes.
Height Rovers and Cheng San Seletar CSC were awarded 3-0 walk-over wins against Marceles Juniors and Berossia Dokmano respectively.

Week 23: A week of walk-overs
In the X-League a “No-Show” is defined as a team not turning up for a fixture or if they have fielded fewer than seven players after the allocated kick-off time. Due to unforeseen circumstances, an unwanted record was broken this week when three matches in Div 1 faced “No Shows”. Cheng San Seletar CSC were awarded a 3-0 walk-over win against Marceles juniors FC, Yishun Predators were awarded a 3-0 walk-over win over Knights FC and Lionheart FC Braves were awarded a 3-0 walk-over win against Berossia Dokmano.
Despite the strange results, there were no changes to the league standings.

Week 22: Brave performance Bad Result
Defending Div 1 Champions, Height Rovers rose up to second place this week with a spirited 8-2 win over Lionheart FC Braves at Ang Mo Kio Secondary. The match itself could be considered one of those instances where the score-line did not necessarily reflect the actual game. Credit must be given to the home side who played their hearts out from start to finish but were victims of clinical finishing. Special mention for Man of the Match, Mohd Riswan who bagged a hat-trick for Height Rovers, who with this win, edge one step closer to defending their crown.
Cheng San Seletar CSC moved to within eight points of challenging Street Predators for fourth spot thanks to a 3-0 Walk-over win against Berossia Dokmano who were once again penalized for a No Show.

Week 21: FC Rondo continue to slide
Following their 1-1 draw against Cheng San Seletar CSC last week, former league leaders FC Rondo hurt their title hopes yet again this time with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of defending Champions, Height Rovers. Muhammad Ramdan gave the home side the lead in the 27th min before making 2-0 going into the break. Goals from Mohammad Luqman and Mohd Riswan then sealed the game for Height Rovers who now move to within two points of their opponents in the league standings.
Over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary, Cheng San East CSC beat Knights Football Club 3-2 thanks to goals from Nurisham Jupri, Amirul Walid and Jefrez Hassan. The win could have seen the home side tied on points with Lionheart FC Braves but unfortunately the their opponents were awarded a 3-0 Walk-over win over Marceles Juniors due to a No Show. Yishun Predators were also awarded a 3-0 walk-over win against Berossia Dokmano.

Week 20: Height Rovers do the double over Yishun Predators
Height Rovers scored a double over their arch-rivals Yishun Predators this week when they beat the visiting side 4-1 at Unity Secondary thanks to a hat-trick from man of the Match, Mutalib Ahmad and a fine individual effort from Muhammad Ramdan. Also at Unity Sec, APMFC made it 27 goals in two games when they trounced Knights FC 11-2 with Man of the Match, Aqi Ahmad Eunos finding the back of the net on five separate occasions. The win sees APMFC move back to the top of the league standings, a position they’ve not held since Week 4.
Over at Ang Mo Kio Secondary, league leaders FC Rondo hit a stumbling block in their quest for the league title when they were held 1-1 by Cheng San Seletar CSC thanks to a fine effort from Nqsuriyan Husin in the 60th min.

Week 19: Farouq Farkhan goes into the Record Books
APMFC scored the third highest win in X-League history on Sunday when they demolished three time Sunday Premier League Div 1 Champions, Marceles juniors FC 16-0 at Unity Secondary. The result also saw Man of the Match, Farouq Farkhan go into the history books as the only player to have ever scored 9 goals in a single league game. A record (7 goals) previously shared by Aqi Ahmad Eunos (APMFC), Xu Rong An (Maestro FC), Mohamed Zakaria aka Mido (Oxley City), Mohammad Hamdan (Height Rovers) & Mohammad Faizal (Avatar FC).
This week also saw Knights Football Club and Berossia Dokmano play to a tentalizing 2-2 draw in the battle at the bottom. The result means that Knights move up to 7th spot with Marceles losing to APMFC.

Week 18: FC Rondo wins crucial tie against APMFC
A repeat of the 2015 X-Cup final took place this week as Yishun Predators played host to Height Rovers at Ang Mo Kio Secondary. The home side seemed to be sailing to victory until the last ten mins of the game when Height Rovers rose from the dead to win 3-2 thanks to goals from Mutalib Ahmad, Muhammad Ramdan and Mohammad Taufiq.
Over at Anderson Secondary, league leaders FC Rondo brought AMPFC’s seven match unbeaten streak to a screeching halt when they hit six goals past the visitors in a game which they dominated from start to finish. Elsewhere, Marceles Juniors FC finally put an end to their five match losing streak with an impressive 8-1 win at Woodlands Secondary. The win sees the home side leapfrog their opponents in the standings to 7th spot.

Week 17: Aqi Ahmad Eunos breaks X-League Top Scorer Record for Div 1
Mohammad Luqman (Height Rovers) held the record for the “Most Number of Goals Scored by an Individual Player in Division 1” when he bagged 20 goals in Season 6 of the Sunday Premier League. Man of the Match, Aqi Ahmad Eunos of APMFC broke that record this week when he scored 7 goals in his sides 8-1 win over Knights Football Club at Unity Secondary. In doing so, Aqi also equalled the record for the “Most Number of goals Scored by an Individual Player in a Single Match” which stands at seven.
Goals from Zul Feshal and Mohammed Sabri saw Yishun Predators garner a crucial 2-0 win over Berossia Dokmano at Woodlands Secondary. The win sees the away side remain in third spot, four points behind league leaders FC Rondo who were surprisingly held to a 3-3 draw by Lionheart Braves.

Week 16: Potential title decider ends in trashing
Height Rovers took on FC Rondo this week in what could turn out to be a potential title decider and the tie didn’t disappoint. The match saw eight goals, three yellow cards and the away side reduced to 10 men. Man of the Match, Kevin Tan was the hero of the tie as he bagged a hat-trick to give FC Rondo an unbelievable 6-2 win over the reigning X-Cup Champions. The league leaders had this to say after the game, “We needed to win this crucial tie and we did it in style. The boys knew that our pride was at stake and played the match of their lives.”
Lionheart Braves pulled off the upset of the weak when they drew 1-1 against second placed APMFC at Unity Secondary. Man of the Match, Aqi Ahmad Eunos was on target for the home side.
Elsewhere, Yishun Predators and Knights Football Club were seen celebrating at their match venues as both sides enjoyed a 3-0 walk-over win over their opponents due to No Shows. A strange phenomenon rarely seen in Division 1.

Week 15: FC Rondo regains top spot
FC Rondo regained top spot this week when they narrowly beat last Season’s Div 2 Champions Berossia Dokmano 1-0 at Yio Chu Kang Secondary thanks to a fine effort from Kevin Tan in the 45th min. The away side had this to say after the game, “It was a very close game as our opponents kept pressing us till the final whistle. We put on a disciplined performance and dug deep to keep them at bay. Kudos to our opponents for the great game.”
Over at Unity Secondary, Yishun Predators kept their title hopes alive with a dominant 3-1 win over Knights Football Club. Zul Feshal, Muhammad Fairus and Muhammad Riyadh were on target for the away side. Also at the same venue, APMFC beat Marceles Juniors FC 3-0 with goals coming from Aqi Ahmad Eunos (2) and Ruhaizad Ismail. The win sees APMFC move up to second in the league standings.

Week 14: Height Rovers suffer first defeat at the hands of APMFC
Aqi Ahmad Eunos may be leading the MVP charge but it was Man of the Match, Farouq Farkhan who stole the show this week as APMFC handed league leaders and defending Div 1 Champions, Height Rovers their first defeat of the season. The away side bagged all three points with a gut wrenching performance that saw them leave 5-4 winners at Ang Mo Kio Secondary. Farouq scored all five of AMPFC’s goals while Mutalib Ahmad, Mohammad Taufiq and Muhammad Ramdan (2) were on target for the home side.
Over at Sembawang Secondary, FC Rondo kept their title hopes alive with a narrow 2-1 win over Cheng San Seletar CSC while Lionheart Braves picked up their third win of the season beating Berossia Dokmano 3-2 at Woodlands Secondary.

Week 13: Predators gunned down by leading MVP
The MVP system was introduced to showcase and honour the best players in the X-League at the end of each season. At the end of each match, a point is awarded to a player when his team nominates him as the Man of the Match however three points are awarded to the player when nominated by the opposing team. Aqi Ahmad Eunos currently leads the MVP standings for Div 1 of the Sunday Premier League and the utility player scored four times this weekend for APMFC as his side beat potential title contenders Yishun Predators 6-3 at Anderson Secondary. Man of the Match Aqi not only leads the MVP standings with 13 points, he’s also the leading goal-scorer for Div 1 having bagged 13 goals to date.
The win sees APMFC close the gap on league leaders Height Rovers to just four points.

Defending Champions height Rovers won 4-2 thanks to clinical efforts from Mohammad Taufiq, Muhammad Aidil and Muhammad Ramdan while FC Rondo won their tie 4-0 at Woodlands Secondary.

Defending Division One Champions, Height Rovers moved to the top of the league standings for the first time this season with an emphatic 6-0 win over Knights Football club at Sembawang Secondary. Man of the Match, Mohd Riswan scored a hat-trick for the away side and was joined by Mohammad Taufiq, Muhammad Ramdan and Mohammad Luqman.
Over at Woodlands Secondary, Berossia Dokmano bounced back from their shocking defeat to Knights FC to beat highly fancied Chang San Seletar CSC 2-1 in a match that could have gone either way. Few would have believed Berossia’s dismal form this season after they dominated Div 2 just a couple of months ago.

Week 10: Knights FC secure first win
Knights Football club secured their first win of the season this week following three successive defeats with a 4-2win over last season’s Division 2 Champions Berossia Dokmano at Woodlands Secondary. Divanka Peiris, Saiful Razali, Dzul Iqrom and Shazwan Aziq were on target for the away side. Two goals from Amirul Walid was not enough to stop Cheng San Seletar from slipping to another defeat as the home side went down 8-2 to APMFC.
What was once dubbed the clash of the titans saw two of the X-Leagues most decorated sides play to a 7 goal thriller at Sembawang secondary, Two goals from Azman Rashid coupled with fine efforts from Mohammad Luqman and Mohd Riswan saw Height Rovers beat Marceles Juniors FC 5-2.

Week 9: Top of the table clash ends in 3-3 draw
A hat-trick by Man of the Match Zul Feshal was not enough for X-Cup finalists Yishun Predators this week as they drew 3-3 against league leaders FC Rondo at Bedok South Secondary. Over at Anderson Secondary, three time Division One Champions, Marceles juniors FC got back to winning ways this week with when they edged Lionheart Braves 2-1 in a game which could have gone either way.
Defending Champions Height Rovers handed knights Football Club their third successive defeat thanks to two goals from Mohd Riswan and a fine effort from Mutalib Ahmad.

Having lost their two opening matches to FC Rondo and Cheng San Seletar, Lionheart Braves dug deep this week to secure their first win of the season this week in emphatic fashion. Week 7: 18 goals in two matches
Knights Football Club kicked off their season in the worst possible fashion this week when they were beaten 9-1 by FC Rondo at Anderson Secondary. Having lost to APMFC last week, FC Rondo were looking to bounce back quickly and they did so in clinical fashion. Also at Anderson Secondary, Yishun Predators continued their fine form with an impressive 5-3 win over Cheng San Seletar. The away side seemed understrength for this encounter and couldn’t deal with Yishun Predators quick counter attacks.
Over at Yusof Ishak Secondary, Height Rovers were awarded a 3-10 walk-over win against Berossia Dokmano due to a n show from their opponents.

Yishun Predators, a break-away side from the team that finished 2nd in the 2015 X-Cup Final (Street Predators), began their season with an impressive 3-2 win over an in form APMFC side. This week they made their intentions known after hitting 12 goals past three time Div 1 Champions Marceles Juniors FC. Man of the Match, Zul Feshal aka Tam led the massacre in this tie scoring 5 of the 12 goals at Anderson Secondary.

Week 2: APMFC extends lead at the top of the table!
Two goals from Man of the Match Zamri Kamal, brother of National Striker Khairul Amri, was not enough to garner any points for Cheng San CSC this week as the away side were beaten 3-2 in a pulsating match at Regent Secondary. The win sees APMFC secure their second win of the season courtesy of goals from Farouq Farkhan and Ahmad Andeey.
