Both teams came into this match with some straight wins under their belts. In sweltering heat, Eastroids knew that this will be a tough match against very good opposition.
The first half was a feisty affair. End to end stuff with lots of strong challenges and fouls. The Eastroiders started the match on the front foot, aggressive and winning the ball high up the field. Alas, a mistake on the right side led to a beautiful cross field ball and mazy run by the opponent. A well placed shot to the left hand corner by the BMFS midfielder resulted in the first goal. 1-0 to BMFS
The Team from the East would not give up as they kept asking questions of the BMFS goal. Two opportunistic goals by Aciq led to the Eastroiders establishing a 2-1 lead. It remained that way for the rest of the first half.
The second half saw a lot of changes by NEFC. Every member of the squad was dying to get a taste of the action. BMFS came out of the blocks flying in the second half. Chance after chance was created but thwarted by a combination of excellent goalkeeping, astute defending and lady luck's beautiful presence.
Try as they might, the opponents couldn't break the wall down. They had some excellent chances and it was fair to say that a draw would not have been an unfair result. After the final whistle, the Eastrodites regrouped and took on some much needed fluids to replenish their tired bodies.
A shoutout to our 'Brazilian' sweeper who had an outstanding game making last minute tackles ala Paolo Maldini. A job well done. Kudos to BMFS for a superbly competitive match. All the best for your future games.
A HARD FOUGHT GAME BETWEEN US AND NEW EASTROIDS.. LADY LUCK WAS NOT BY OUR SIDE BUT WE DID SHOW THEM WE ARE NOT AN EASILY BEATEN TEAM..CONGRATS TO NEW EASTROIDS
