Team Report

Another great day of football.

Sparta Cowboys have been on a roll prior to this clash beating big name teams. Beating Ike Ike and trouncing Ironfield just a week prior to this. These series of results got NEFC wary approaching the game against the Spartans. We knew we will be up for some action.

A game of passion and determination. Onlookers will know that these two teams are made up those who love the game.

NEFC scored early, very very early. 1st min NEFC got lucky while the Cowboys goalkeeper misjudged a high ball going up against Riki who cooly touched the ball across the line.

Next stop Zayd Hadary, our very own Leo Messi, finished clinically showing great composure latching onto a wonderful square ball courtesy of Riki Baby.

Final NEFC goal was a special one. Our Chicarito, Kamar, who is normally deployed as a RB/CB finally gets his chance to play upfront. Having waited many years for this rare moment, he made full use of it scoring like a true poacher connecting perfectly with the ball from Faris' cross from the right. Congrats Mr Kamar aka Chicarito! We all knew his goal sealed the game. We know we had to be disciplined from then on to hang on to the lead and win the game.

We had nothing but compliments for the Spartans and the Cowboys, their efforts went up against a solid NEFC defence who so happen to have brought their A game for the day. Even so, they managed to score a beauty of a goal leaving even our MOM in goal, Mikhail, helpless and in awe at the same time.

A memorable day for NEFC, and a memorable debut season in the X-League, though its not official. NEFC stamps its mark as Champions on this very day.
