Team Report

Our season is over. We have achieved our target, staying in division, for the season. We could have perhaps done better but a significant number of draws have always kept us away from the 3rd place. Another target for this season was to improve defence, and with less than 2 goals on average allowed per game it was a success. Back to the last game.

Both teams were lucky as the haze has "miraculously" disappeared on the Final Day of F1. Predators showed up for the game in numbers, I guess preparing for the X-League final, though we are not quite as strong as Height Rovers. We had relatively strong team as well with only 2 regulars missing: Ramon is still vacationing in Spain and Alisher - injured from the preceding friendly game.

Predators started the game with high spirits as if they were already playing on the Ex-National Stadium in front of thousands spectators. Their motivation was going to last until the end of the game. Our chances were only coming from counterattacks. Predators dominate the whole game once hitting a post with danger coming mostly from 6 (M Fairrus) and 7 (Syafie). Luckily, it's overall our 4th game with them and both players are well-known to our defenders. On our side we had 2 one-on-ones by Samir: missing the goals first time and requiring a fantastic save from Predator's goalkeeper the second. Bugra's shot has also been saved once but back to Bugra again who was seemingly shooting the empty net only to find the hand of a defender. No penalty was given as defender was facing the goals. Arguable decision, but we can see the point as it was not an intentional handball. Predator's goal came early in the second half with a seemingly innocent cross from left to right flank by Syafie which was captured by Predator's right midfielder who moved towards the goal line and served a very soft cross which flew above the goalkeeper and landed at the back corner were Predator's striker was faster than our defender to touch the ball and score. 1-0 was the final score with Predators securing 3rd place.

It's difficult to give MoM to anyone in our team so I decided to give it to myself once again. For Predators it was the choice between their goalkeeper and Syafie: I give it to Syafie was his hard work and constant running.
