Team Report

Team Report

1st half: Kick start the line-up with just one reserve- Hazim, others is on their way. The match begins with both side playing cautiously with attacks and tries thrown at each other. It wasn’t defensive approach by both sides, just not prepared to be bold to concede the first goal. Interesting play with counter attacks first couple of minutes, LAS no: 28 penalize for a foul on Haziq whom than make it even more interesting on a Bollywood drama. Follow up with another foul by LAS defender, free-kick taken by Adi few attempts at goal when the ball deflected on to Norizwan to strike it over the bar. Nashrin retract on his defense guard managed to retrieve the ball charge up his solo run into the box took the shot defender block deflect back to Nashrin slow reaction on reflex and put the ball out. Nashrin to take the corner, short pass to Syahdirwan back flick to Norizwan shot and wide. LAS has their own attacking moment when from 20metres long range shot at goal, Haikal V even though he is small with focus and confident flick the ball over for a wonderful save, he is good! LAS kept up the attacking pressure forcing Kumar to pick-up Yellow. Just before the break Nashrin to Norizwan shot from long range around 20metres out keeper push it over the cross bar, 0-0 in this half.

Cautious play but interesting display by both teams neither dare to risk any chance to concede an early goal.

Possessions, attacking flow, Pace, Speed, responsive reflexes, good display yet no goal in this half, lacking of punch and decisive finish from Newtons.

2nd half: To prove my point on comments made last week when Newtons had an easy game against 7men Arizen with the score line 7-0 was not impressive considering… In this half a more dramatic results produce from Newtons goal riots. Five changes, Mamat, Hazim, Farhad, Razali and Zarie an early goal came from Razali left wings speed up on his solo close in to the box and scramble the defender for his day view goal 0-1 Razali. Second goal Nashrin regains ball possession in Newton’s half, lay to the left for Razali control possession to slot the ball for overlapping left back Hazim solo in dodging the defenders and scored his first goal for Newtons, 0-2 Hazim. Play maker Hykal J from left mid pick-up a pass turn simple control square for Nashrin on the right stretching the defender close in for a shot from 20metres out to the right angle of the keeper push out, good try by Nashrin. Third goal Harith wins a tackle from his right defense low pass for Hykal J in the centre circle of the midfield compose his ball control took the long shot from around 25-30 meters keeper track back to push the ball over deflects inside top bar bounce in for Hykal J first goal the best goal so far (Beckham No27), 0-3 Hykal J. Zarie picked up yellow card for shouting his own name distraction counts on opponent. Farhad through ball for Nashrin making the run on the right flank close in and square a header for Razali to score his second goal, 0-4 Razali. Substitute Qammar for Haikal V in the 20th minutes. Qammar goal kick to Bo Yanni advance his control saw Hykal J make his run into the box slot in the low pass Hykal dodge his way in to place his second goal, 0-5 Hykal J. Harith clear the ball for Bo Yanni maintain his ball possession slot in for Nashrin almost another duplicate run like Hykal J’s goal, shot with his left foot 0-6 Nashrin. By this time Newtons was on a goal rush, Zarie solo from the left wings into the box to Bo Yanni and convert the seventh goal, 0-7 Bo Yanni. Newton picked the third yellow by Farhad. Razali made his run from the left pump in the ball scramble in front of the goal keeper LAS did not clear the danger Bo Yanni managed to steal the eighth goal, 0-8 Bo Yanni. LAS penalize for a foul and collect second yellow number 14. I thought the goal rioting was over when a panic moment in LAS penalty box Zarie head home for the ninth goal for Newtons, 0-9 Zarie. That was the game over whistle for Newton to close in on their second season back to back Championship Trophy. Great achievements from the young and still under study new talents and the job is still not done, full of desire to finish at the highest honest for the second season.

I am speechless by the performance in the second half from the lads, much, much more lively in all departments. Everyone played well and enjoys the match; Haziq has beginning to evolve in the left back position. Plays simple football, reacts fast, improves reflex, and creates good position on his follow-up. Voted the best goal for this match came from the 3rd goal by Hykal J’s long shot. Man of the Match; Nashrin, attacking and striking poachers constantly on the move instigate his speed and pace. Alfian and Syahdirwan contain their defense and generate attacking pressure assisting the midfields. Even more amazing when our Teens Prodigy is also winning at their friendly 5-2 at 3:00pm Northbrook Secondary School, top draws results!!!
